Corey Taylor Talks 'Exciting' Stone Sour Comic
Corey Taylor says he's achieved a huge life ambition by releasing a new comic as part of the new Stone Sour album "House of Gold & Bones Part 2." Taylor says he's been excited about the project for a long time, and can't believe it's finally happening for real. "It always just sat on the back burner for a really long time, until the first Slipknot tour that we did after Paul [Gray, bassist] died, he told Bloody Disgusting (via Blabbermouth). "The idea just came to me and all the sudden I could see the beginning, the middle and the end, very vividly. I could see the characters coming together in my head, and that kind of triggered the music that I contributed to both Stone Sour albums." You might think that a rock star like Corey Taylor would have a lot of pull when it comes to commanding the attention of comic publishers, but in reality he grew impatient with waiting for certain companies to respond. That all changed when Dark Horse got involved, he says. "They were the first to get it, not only from a creative standpoint, but they were also the first to understand it as a mini-series. They were ready to go and that's what I was looking for. I wanted someone to be as excited about it as I was. It could have been an independent small publisher and I would have been all about it if the excitement was there." Taylor says he would consider writing another comic in the future, but has no plans to unless it's a great idea and completely different. Take a look at Stone Sour comics concept art below:
