Gojira: 'We Want to Release an Album Next Year'
Joe Duplantier from Gojira has been speaking with Team Rock about progress on the band's upcoming album.

As the singer notes, the band has been working on new material and intends to have the record out next year:

"We're working on new songs, these days between tours and sometimes on tour. We cannot wait to record a new album. We still have a few shows to play this summer and then we're gonna tour with Mastodon later this year, in October. But after that, we're going straight into the studio. We want to release an album next year. I don't know when yet because we're not done composing, but we're working on it."

Duplantier also stated that the material is evolving beyond the band's initial promise of a faster, thrashier album:

"It is evolving. Since Soundwave we worked on new stuff and I have new inspirations for vocals. My brother Mario came up with very interesting things. His drumming is becoming richer. There's something new emerging, and yet at the same time, it's more simple. It's changing all the time. That's why it's actually a little difficult to talk about it now. The only thing I can say for sure is that I'm very excited."

Gojira's last album, "L'Enfant Sauvage," was released in 2012 to rave reviews.
