The long-awaited new "Bill & Ted
" movie could be at risk, according to its star Keanu Reeves
who claims "there's darkness out there that's keeping it from happening."
Ambitions for a third movie were confirmed in 2010, with a scipt being completed last year which followed on from their story that saw the pair of hapless metal fans travel through time in a phone booth. Now Reeves warns that something fishy is going on the in the film camp."There's lots of subterfuge and conspiracy theories,"
he told MTV News
this week. "There's a whole thing... I might have to do one of those independent press, conspiracy, other-name kind of
[statements] explaining why it hasn't happened yet, because it's pretty dark out there."
He added to the mysterious darkness that is supposedly keeping the movie back from release: "There's all sorts of stuff and it just can't - it's just - there's darkness out there that's keeping it from happening ... It's that part of the story where it's looking grim. It's the dark period of the idea."
His co-star Bill, A.K.A. Alex Winter
, was more optimistic when he discussed the movie in March this year. "There's no drama ... We built a story. They wrote a script. We're tinkering with the script to get it perfect. Then we will go get the money. Then we will shoot it. And that's really all there is to it."
