Tim Lambesis Trial to Last Into 2014
As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis has appeared in Vista courtroom yesterday (November 13) for his scheduled arraignment hearing. As Lambgoat reports, the hearing itself lasted merely a minute, as the singer appeared with his lawyer Thomas Warwick and a woman believed to be his mother. Tim pleaded "not guilty" to murder solicitation charges and a January 15 readiness conference was scheduled. Also known as a pre-trial conference, the readiness conference will see the defense counsel and the prosecutor further discussing the case. If no agreement is reached, the case will proceed to trial. According to the same source, March 11 was mentioned as a tentative date for the beginning of trial. However, the given date is also likely to be pushed back. Most speculations claim that a plea deal might be reached. "Roid rage" defense reportedly stands out as the most promising defense line and is believed to further support the lawyer's bargain push. It was also noted that if the trial stretches through next May, Lambesis might need to pay another $160,000 to remain free on bail. Lambesis was arrested on May 7 in Oceanside for allegedly hiring an undercover police officer to murder his estranged wife Meggan. If convicted, he will face up to nine years behind bars. Two photos from yesterday's hearing are available below, courtesy of Lambgoat.
