50 Cent sued for $21 million

50 Cent may lose a lot of change after a run-in with a photographer.

A New York Post shutterbug is suing the rapper for $21 million U.S. after his bodyguards allegedly roughed him up last August, MTV.com reports.

Photographer James Alcorn claims that the Aug. 27 assault, which occurred as Alcorn was taking photos of the rapper leaving a midtown Manhattan jeweler, left him suffering from "severe and serious injuries."

He filed a lawsuit seeking damages against 50 Cent (a.k.a. Curtis Jackson), his record companies -- Interscope, Aftermath and Shady Records -- and seven unnamed security guards.

No criminal charges have been filed, but the New York Police Department's investigation is still ongoing.

Spokespeople for 50 Cent had no comment.
