Even though AC/DC haven't released any new music in the past year, the rock legends might take home an American Music Award in November. The band's soundtrack for Iron Man 2 (which includes AC/DC tracks spanning 1975-2008) is nominated in the Soundtrack category. AC/DC will competing with Glee: The Music, Volume 3, Showstoppers and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack. But the Aussies aren't the only rockers up for an American Music Award. Muse, Phoenix and Vampire Weekend are all nominated for Favorite Artist in the Alternative Rock category, and mainstream rockers Train will vie for Favorite Band, Duo or Group against The Black Eyed Peas and Lady Antebellum. Country music superstars Lady Antebellum lead the pack, along with Eminem, for the most AMA nods. Each act has five nominations. The 2010 American Music Awards will air Sunday, November 21 on ABC. Performers will include Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Usher, Pink and Bon Jovi. Winners will be determined by fan voting at ABC.com and AMAvote.com. Thanks for the report to Bryan Wawzenek, Gibson.com.
