AC/DC have stormed the music DVD charts worldwide, reaching No.1 in 17 countries.

"Live At River Plate," which covers their huge "Black Ice" world tour, topped the chart in the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Australia, Argentina, Canada, Ireland, Belgium, Sweden, New Zealand, Austria, Chile, Hungary, Finland and Italy, according to Blabbermouth. Phew.

It follows the success of the tour's accompanying album "Black Ice," which saw similar chart-topping behaviour in 31 countries.

The Buenos Aires show which acts as the main DVD feature saw 200,000 fans over three sold-out shows. It was the band's first visit to Argentina for 13 years, where local newspaper Pagina 12 summarised their appearance by saying "no one is on the same level when it comes to pure and clear rock 'n' roll."

DVDs are all about the extra features. Besides the 110 minute live show, it includes footage detailing how the mammoth production came together and interviews with the band and crew, while the Blu-Ray collectors edition includes an exclusive t-shirt.

In addition, the filming production team On Sight give some behind-the-scenes detail on the shoot on their website, saying it took three days to plan the workflow for the 32 HD cameras that covered the event, which was later edited by HD Lab.
