Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was hospitalized yesterday, after taking a serious spill in a hotel bathroom in Paraguay, where his band was scheduled to perform.
The "Love in an Elevator" singer was reportedly rushed to the La Costa medical center in Paraguay's capital city, Asuncion, after slipping on the wet floor of his hotel room's shower, suffering cuts to his face and knocking out two teeth.
Tyler spent almost four hours in the hospital, where doctors administered stitches, and affixed two dental implants to replace his lost teeth. He has since returned to his hotel to recover, after being discharged in "
good condition," according to Reuters.
Due to Tyler's injuries, Aerosmith was forced to postpone tonight's concert until Wednesday (October 26). They will, however, continue their tour, performing in Argentina, as planned, on October 28.
Tyler's shower accident is being blamed on dehydration as a result of food poisoning.
Thanks for the report to Spinner.com.
Hope he's ok. It may seem a bit funny, but those kinds of accidents are really dangerous. The fact that he lost teeth is pretty bad, but at least he has the money to fix it there and then. Still, doesn't seem like a pleasant experience.
