Arcturus have confirmed rumors that the band is spliting up on their official website. The rumors started when the band played a show in Melbourne and the band's lead singer, Simen "ICS Vortex" Haestnes, opened the show with "Welcome to the last Arcturus-show ever."

"This is a decision we made some time ago. We all have a lot of things going on in our carreers and our lives, and therefore can not find the time to continue working with this band." (Posted by the band on their website.)

The bands drummer, Jan Axel "Hellhammer" Blomberg, also made the following statement, according to Blabbermouth.net: "Yes, we are splitting up. There is no more time for all of us as everyone [is] extremely busy. But there has been some killer 16 years or so. See you next time with Mayhem or Dimmu, and those bands [are] not likely [to] split up any time soon."

Haha I'm sorry, but this is really funny because my band's keyboardist has a crazy obsession with the band and I could never get into them so I'm busting his balls about this right now. lol
