From the message of their latest album, Worldwide, the 12-year-old Christian rock band, Audio Adrenaline, has fulfilled it in their own ministry. The band is auctioning off their instruments to take their ministry worldwide to the country of Haiti: The Hands and Feet Project
The Mission
"Basically, we're going to be starting an orphanage," states lead singer Mark Stuart, "to house about 100 kids. Instead of calling it an orphanage or setting it up like an institution, we're beginning to see the vision of starting little homes with Haitian parents. We want these kids to be adopted by church families. We want to give the orphans we find a loving Christian family, a chance to grow up in a Christian school and go to Church." Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Half of the population in Haiti are under 14. And Audio A is taking their ministry much deeper than just touring in the US, they’re taking it worldwide. Mark’s parents have already left for Haiti to begin the mission, and the band will be departing from the US soon.
One of
Audio A’s greatest hit singles,
Hands And Feet, has inspired them to engage in such a project. The song is about being the hands and feet of
Jesus and going wherever He sends us. That is what the band has eagerly thrived for the past 12 years. “We’ve just been waiting for an opportunity like this to come across for years,” says the band, “and now that it’s arrived, we’re going to seize this opportunity to fulfill the ministry of
Jesus.” While much of the Christian music community are more focused on advertising the mission in Africa to help the kids who are suffering from starvation, AIDS, homelessness, etc.,
Audio A has pointed their mission towards Haiti. “We wanted to do something different,” exclaims
Stuart.
Will Audio Adrenaline ever make a new album?
Little is known about whether or not the band will record a new album in the future. Audio A’s fans have grown rapidly over the past few years, and, most likely, they will. However, the mission in Haiti could very well be the start of a whole new ministry of Audio Adrenaline. More news on their upcoming albums will be announced on their website: audioa.com.
