Blogger Arrested Over GN'R Leaks

Federal authorities say they have arrested a blogger suspected of streaming songs from Guns N' Roses unreleased album, "Chinese Democracy," on his Web site.

FBI agents arrested 27-year-old Kevin Cogill yesterday (August 27th) on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws. Federal authorities say Cogill posted nine unreleased Guns N' Roses songs on Antiquiet.com in June. The songs were later removed but spread quickly across the Internet.

According to an arrest affidavit, Cogill admitted to agents that he posted the songs on his Web site.

"Chinese Democracy" has been in the works for more than a decade, with frontman Axl Rose the only remaining original member of the once mighty group. Rumblings that the album may finally be out this fall, possibly as a Best Buy exclusive, have not been confirmed by Guns N' Roses or its management.

Seems like a lot of the people that leak music to the web never even have action taken against them, it's always the bloggers. I guess the larger amount of bloggers might equate to more money if sued than the smaller amount of peolple who leak. Just my theory.

I mean yes he probably technically stole the songs but still I'm sure there probably was some sort of understanding/deal made when they asked him to remove the songs. If not he might as well have kept the songs on his blog. Something has got to be up here that we don't know about.

Not me, If the real GnR reunited I might care, but this album isn't worth the wait from the leaks ive downloaded, anything that is on the album that I didn't already download I will download when the album gets released. Its a pretty good album, but it wasnt worth the 10+ year wait. Its not gonna change the music scene I dont think either.

i have chinese democracy on my ipod and the tab is up on UG..... just search limewire, the songs WERE leaked.....

That said, the song does suck a dick compared to all other GnR songs, lets face it guys, gnr are the reason i started to play guitar, but Axl by himself is NOT GnR. and theres no way Slash will ever go bac, nor Matt, seeing as how Steven Adler got the credit for UYI I & II when he quit the band. Izzy might, seeing as he quit because they were all into hard drugs and Axl's seemed to have sobered up. Duff would, but seeing as hes Slash's pussy lapdog (although, my FAVORITE bassist), hes not going anywhere.
