Blur Guitarist Says Band Has No Future Plans

According to Nme.com, Graham Coxon has stated that Blur has no future plans to play together or act as a band following this year.

The quintet reunited earlier this year to play a collection of festivals and shows. In a video interview with Nme, Coxon stated they have nothing in store for the future.

"We're in touch and we say 'Wotcha' and all that but nothing has been mentioned about any more shows or anything else," he explained.

"Everyone's slipped back into what they do when the Blur creature isn't heaving around. Law and cheese and music, I suppose."

Aside from Blur, Coxon does plan to go ahead with a solo career. The guitarist will play a handful of gigs under the name The Graham Coxon Power Acoustic Ensemble.

I'm just waiting for that third Gorillaz album...Albarn can do whatever he wants, but I wont be paying any attention until that project is ready.

Yeah, Gorillaz > Blur. Totally different scene, granted. My preference, take it or leave it

Blue made songs, Coffee and TV and... Song 2. If you don't know Song 2 it goes a bit like this...
WOOOOHOOOOO
WOOOOOHOOOOO
WOOOOOHOOOOO!

It's a good song.

Gorillaz are great. I'm just a bit peeved because the last time Blur came to my area was in '03 for a music festival, and they cancelled last minute. Never got my chance to see them!

Oh comon...dont be so ignorant and say blur only had 'Song 2' as a good song. Tht's exactly like saying Oasis only had one good song with 'Wonderwall' and Pulp only had one good song with 'Common people'. They are all very good songs but are too stereotyped with being the bands only songs. All three bands have songs that are MUCH better in their back cataclogues. For blur try 'For Tommorow' for example.

angrypom wrote on 10/31/2009 - 06:58 am / quote |
Gorillaz are okay and graham is alright..but neither are particularly grabbing when compared to blur..it has to be all 4 together, not separately..blur is greater than the sum of its parts
