Bono Leaks New U2 Songs

Rock stars may have to rein in their taste for loud music after a fan overheard U2 frontman Bono listening to tracks from the group's forthcoming album and recorded them before posting the songs on the Internet.

The fan heard the music blaring out of the Irish rocker's holiday home in the south of France, recorded it on his mobile phone and posted four tracks on video-sharing website YouTube, newspapers and music websites reported on Tuesday.

The previously unheard songs had now been removed from the website for copyright reasons but continued to circulate via email, the Irish Independent newspaper said.

Nobody at U2's record label could immediately be reached for comment on the reports.

The quality of the recording was said to be poor, with the noise of waves and seagulls audible in the background.

I like U2's music. I just don't like Bono (aka the second coming of Christ). What is there to explain? He is a pretentious prick. It's a fact. Look up the word pretentious or narcissistic in the dictionary and it will say see also BONO.

It's funny how people hate certain celebrities, when they don't really know the real side of them. I've been working with a lot bands now, ranging from current, to hall of fame status. A lot of my collegues have also worked with these artists. You'd be surprise how they really are. What you see on the TV, or other forms of media is their 'stage' persona. So to all you haters out there....you got fooled. Just picture these artists as movie actors on stage, and their stage is whenever they exit their house, coz everyone is always on the look out for them. Most of them just want to be alone. Most are down to earth. The only exceptions are certain rap/hip-hop artists and legends. As for Bono is he's a humanitarian, and is the type you could hang out with. The only person I know that doesn't listen to anyone elses music but his is Yanni. Bono's taste of music is so diverse. I might disappoint some people, if they ask me about their favorite artist/bands.

Achtung Baby has its moments, but for the most part U2 ceased being relevant after Joshua Tree. The bullshit 90's stuff they did was one huge circle jerk. All That You Can't Leave Behind was yawn-inducing. Vertigo was vomit. Edge has become a parody of himself, Bono's voice is shot and his lyrics are increasingly insufferable, and their image as an "important band" is boring.

South Park truly said it best. He does all these great things for the world, but he still comes off like a piece of shit. I'm glad he's doing good, but like Oprah I feel his crusading comes as much from his narcissistic messiah complex as a desire to help. If he really wanted to get shit done he'd take himself out of the spotlight. Look, it's Bono and Nelson Mandela! It's Bono and President Bush! It's Bono and the Pope!

Its funny that most people say they like "early U2", pre Rattle and Hum, but after that they hate Bono and U2 for their political bullshit. Listen to the band and realize that after Rattle and Hum, its nearly impossible to find one U2 song from Achtung Baby and onward that has even the slightest political tone. All the early songs most people like, Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Years Day, Streets, Pride, Bullet the Blue Sky...all political.
