Bruce Springsteen hit the Jersey shore for a "secret" video shoot at the Casino carousel in Asbury Park Tuesday afternoon.
New Jersey’s Star-Ledger reports the shoot was for an upcoming webcast, and featured Bruce and the E Street Band performing songs from “The Promise,” his new collection of songs from the 1977/78 “Darkness On The Edge Of Town” sessions.
Bruce used the 1978 version of the
E Street Band, as
Nils Lofgren,
Soozie Tyrell and
Patti Scialfa were not present.
Longtime Jackson Browne sidekick David Lindley was there. Lindley played on a couple of songs from "The Promise."
Springsteen arrive at 1:10 p.m. and the band ran through an extensive soundcheck, doing some songs more than once.
A very small audience was invited inside to watch. They were mostly contest winners who entered a drawing through the Springsteen fanzine "Backstreets."
The taping began about 4:35 p.m.
Songs played in front of the audience for the taping:
01. Racing In the Street (1978 version)
02. Gotta Get That Feeling
03. Outside Looking In
04. One Way Street
05. Come On (Let's Go Tonight).
06. Save My Love
