Chester Bennington Opens Up About Sexual Abuse And Alcoholic Past

Linkin Park's Chester Bennington has revealed details about his past in a recent interview.

The frontman admitted that he had been a "full blown, raging alcoholic" and also spoke about being sexually abused as a child.

"I don't drink. I choose to be sober now. I have drunk over the last six years, but I just don't want to be that person anymore", Bennigton told Kerrang.

The singer has revealed in previous interviews that he was molested at seven-years-old:

"If I think back to when I was really young, to when I was being molested, to when all these horrible things were going on around me, I shudder."

Linkin Park are currently promoting their new single "Iridescent", which features in the current hit film "Transformers: Dark Of The Moon" and marks Linkin Park's third time working with the director Michael Bay.

linkin park and green day shouldn't have been in transformers. good/average bands, but their music just doesn't fit in. why is everyone laughing about molestation. it's a serious issue, not funny at all. you guys are awful.

i find Linkin Park and Green Day still being famous as a serious issue.

Chester's got a great voice. From that choir boy highs to the "Cookie Monster" growls.
It's great that Chester is speaking out about it. Kids facing similar circumstances need role models like him.
