According to Gibson.com, to help promote their new album, Chickenfoot have announced they will perform a free web concert on September 27. It’s the same day the new record, Chickenfoot III, will be released in North America.
Chickenfoot Presents III will begin at 6 p.m. PST on the 27th. During the webcast, the supergroup will play songs from their sophomore release and then answer questions from fans at Chickenfoot.us.
“These are exciting times,” Sammy Hagar said.
“When a band can have the technology to allow them to perform in a state-of-the-art setting and take that performance out around the world is amazing! I’m up for that!”
Chickenfoot also includes guitarist Joe Satriani, bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Chad Smith, although he will be replaced by Kenny Aronoff when the band goes on tour this fall. Smith has a prior commitment to his main band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, who’ve just released an album of their own.
