Chickenfoot Announce Free Concert

According to Gibson.com, to help promote their new album, Chickenfoot have announced they will perform a free web concert on September 27. It’s the same day the new record, Chickenfoot III, will be released in North America.

Chickenfoot Presents III will begin at 6 p.m. PST on the 27th. During the webcast, the supergroup will play songs from their sophomore release and then answer questions from fans at Chickenfoot.us.

“These are exciting times,” Sammy Hagar said. “When a band can have the technology to allow them to perform in a state-of-the-art setting and take that performance out around the world is amazing! I’m up for that!”

Chickenfoot also includes guitarist Joe Satriani, bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Chad Smith, although he will be replaced by Kenny Aronoff when the band goes on tour this fall. Smith has a prior commitment to his main band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, who’ve just released an album of their own.

This is nowhere near being a "concert", they might as well just make a music video and post it in the web.

Although, this is the only way for them to make it "free" I guess, since you'd have to pay the rent if you want a big gig.

He probably will be there, the chili's have a break from Sept. 24 till Oct. 7th so there is a chance he could make it.

I don't know if Smith will be there or not, the article says he will be replaced when they go on tour this fall, almost as if he'll play this show.

I just can dig the band, despite the fact of how much I love satriani, but it is cool bands doing those kinds of things, even if it is only a online concert.

thats wrong, they said its because, even though its only their second album, its so good its like they skiped the second and just went right to the third.

Actually he wanted it to be III because he said whenever a new band releases a first album and it's successful, the second one always sucks, but then they go right back to the top for the third. So he decided to skip that low album and stick with being on top.

The Album is great! Some really awesome stuff in there again. I love the last track with Satriani's guitar work. The dude still has it. It's amazing!
