Dave Grohl Says Supergroup Will 'Make More Albums'

Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl says Them Crooked Vultures, his band featuring Queens Of The Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, is a long term project.

The "supergroup" released their self-titled debut album in November after making their UK live debut supporting Arctic Monkeys in August in London.

Grohl explained that he expects the new group to run alongside his work with Foo Fighters.

He said: "You put the three of us together in a room something, is going to happen. I don’t think we’ll have any trouble making five, six, seven records if we want to. It’s just a matter of when and where and how."

He added: "I wouldn’t want to stop doing it - it’s a fun band to be in."

Grohl, who plays drums in the band, revealed they have some unfinished material lying around from their first album sessions.

But the unit won’t be neglecting their other outfits, Grohl confirmed there will be a new Foo Fighters album "at some point - definitely".

He added: "It is tough because doing this is the greatest thing in the world and our other bands are awesome too. It’s just a matter of trying to figure out how to do them all. We’re here now and it’s a nice place to be."

I was thinking the same about the 2 new Foo Fighters songs - they're not as original as anything else Foos have done but hopefully that's just because they wrote the 2 songs in a hurry.

Yeah, but if Dave was doing vocals you would be saying it the other way around. I think its hard to take the singer of an already strongly established band and not have his side project sound a lot like it.

Nonetheless, Them Crooked Vultures is pretty damn awesome, and I am glad that they are making this music.

Well, unless these guys start playing stuff from Nirvana, Zeppelin, Kyuss, Foos, Qotsa, etc. which they won't, I'd have to say yes: it does kind of make sense since them Arctic Monkeys have a bigger and more varied repertoire as of now, plus they're (rightfully) huge in Europe.

If it wasn't just Jonesy but all of Led Zeppelin performing these gigs, now that'd be another story...

I absolutely hate the fact that JPJ is always overlooked and underrated to an extreme.. how hes "just" one of the members of Zep when jimmy page is jimmy page and robert plant is robert plant.. you dont even have to mention bonzos full name and most people understand who youre referring to.. but the secret weapon that made Zep tick never gets full credit.. even in the vultures, he is responsible for writing most of the incredible music that i to believe is a step toward saving rock and they get slotted infront of 'arctic monkeys' absolute shame.. i bet if pagey or plant were the lone zep member in TCV things would be completely different..

Look, the reason Them Crooked Vultures supported the Arctic Monkeys is because Arctic Monkeys are bigger - they have 3 albums. End of. Who really cares who supported who? I Wish I could have been there to see 2 of the greatest bands in the world right now.

i must admit, i was skeptical about TCV until i bought the cd yesterday. i stand in awe of how awesome it is! i am a believer in TCV, ****in' hallelujah! most supergroups i can think of lately have been awful (chickenfoot anyone?) but they really put out a great album.

Dave needs to sell his guitar colelction, exorcise his "front man" fantasy, and stick to drumming. The first QOTSA album he drummed on, the Killing Joke album, and the Vultures albums are all drumming clinics! Dave should stick behind the skins.

Dave is my favorite drummer [coming from a guitarist] and his drumming on this album is probably the best he's ever done, Nirvana included. They're just different, and hard to compare.

I was kinda disappointed with the selftitled, I mean it was good but I just thought it sounded way too much like QOTSA than Zeppelin or Nirvana/Foo Fighters. QOTSA is a good band but I would have liked them to branch out a little more. Hopefully they do that in the future

Dave doesn't "just want to appeal to that pop crowd." Are you retarded? He isn't a guy that makes music to please people. He makes the music the way he wants to make it. IF it happens to appeal to the pop crowd with some songs, big whoop. But no way does he do it on purpose. He's not that guy.
