LeRoi Moore, the saxophonist for the Dave Matthews Band, died yesterday (August 19) due to sudden complications stemming from an all-terrain-vehicle accident earlier this summer, reports NME.com.
Moore, 43, passed away at the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center near his Los Angeles home.
The accident occurred in June on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. He had been admitted to the hospital at the time, but was released and had begun intensive rehabilitation at his Los Angeles home when he was readmitted to the hospital for unexpected complications, according to the band's website.
Moore was a founding member of the Dave Matthews Band, and co-wrote several of the songs sung by Matthews. In addition to playing the saxophone, he also played the flute, bass clarinet and wooden penny whistle.
Matthews reportedly paid tribute to Moore at the band's sold-out show at the Los Angeles Staples Center tonight. "We all had some bad news today," he said. "Our good friend LeRoi Moore passed on and gave his ghost up today and we will miss him forever."

: OMFG. When i heard this i cried. DMB is, has been, and will continue to be my favourite band for so long. LeRoi was the reason i took up playing the saxophone and continued to play it and i am so unbelievably sad to hear this. He was so good at everything he did and he was such a big part of DMB that i just cant get over it. he was by far the greatest saxophonist i have ever heard and will always be my favourite saxophonist. He will be truly missed by the band, fans of the band, his family, and anyone who has ever played the saxophone. His spirit will live on through his music and he will never be forgotten.
