Glenn Hughes said he had interest to bring back Deep Purple's famous MK III lineup of David Coverdale, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Glenn Hughes, and Ian Paice.
In an interview with Blabbermouth.net, they asked what the likelihood of this lineup return was. Glenn responded "I can't say. We'd like to do it just for the crack but everything has to be just right. Deep Purple split up with a lot of strong feelings and bitterness so it would be nice to heal that in a way. We all talk to each other, there's no hard feelings at all. It was all so long ago. MK III was unfinished business I think."
The current lineup (which features 3/5 of the lineup of MK II, the most famous Deep Purple lineup) only features one member of
Deep Purple MK II. With that, it can most likely be assumed that drummer Ian Paice could ultimately decide what lineup takes flight.
Deep Purple has been around since 1968, with Ian Paice being the only member to last through the whole of the band. Their 18th album, Rapture Of The Deep, was released earlier this year in October.
