In a tragic case of mistaken identity, the 23-year-old drummer for metal band Exsanguination Throne has been murdered in the Dominican Republic.
José Carlos Hernández was attacked by a group of me outside a pub in Santo Domingo and was stabbed more than 27 times early on Sunday morning.Three men aged between 24 and 28 have been arrested in connection with the attack.According to Blabbermouth (via Listin Diario), a suspect who was arrested with a 10-inch knife used in the attack told police that the group mistakenly thought Hernández had raped a woman they knew last month.Hernández would perform as the character "Asmodeo Nefastdrum Shiva" and can be seen in the image and video below.
LOL at thinking there's actually a difference... According to your logic, certain people are above the law just because they're cops.. And people actually wonder why things go to hell sometimes...
There is no room for vigilante justice in our society, and Scorpyin I don't think your comment could have been more ridiculous. A police officer's goal when bringing someone to justice isn't to kill them. It is to arrest them so their constitutional right to a trial is protected.
Noticing this was in the Dominican Republic. My comment was assuming previous commentators were discussing the U.S system. Regardless, my comment still stands.
Thumbs up to saint_berzerker, The system is crap. Anyone who has been thru the sytems knows well how shity it is. But when we talkin about kill'n a dude you better damn well know who it is you be kill'n

This typo reminds me of that Family Guy episode where Peter runs into the group of Tom Brokaw's.. "Looks like someone's a little lost.." lol... This sucks though.. R.I.P. JCH
It was a case of mistaken identity, the man that was killed was thought to be the person who raped a girl the gang knew. Remember to read the article before commenting, it helps.
i did read it, im not an idiot. but why should someone believe those thugs? no doubt they thought the charge will be lessened if they had "good" reason.
If the murderer deems stabbing someone 20+ times with a dagger for rape is just, I'd like to hear what he thinks is adequate for "stabbing an innocent man to death with a dagger like a machine because of sheer idiocy".
Well, rape is definitely wrong, but murder is about ten times worse. And when you kill a man who had absolutely nothing to do with it. You've just put yourself into a world of shit, and the actual guy is still out there while you'll be locked up. Ironic?
So true, man. Murder is ludicrous, but rape is a close second to me. That can ruin someone's mind, essentially stealing their life from them in a different way.
None of us was saying that murder is better in any sense of the word. He was just trying to bring notice to the fact that rape isn't taken nearly as seriously as it could be.
Well when you kill the wrong person, with out getting your facts straight yes it's worse than rape, an innocent person was raped, but not murdered in the process. I'm not saying it's not bad. But when an innocent person is murdered for something he didn't do. I'm sticking with my statement.
Good thing that I play power metal then, I'll probably die while having sex with an elf :O
Joking aside though: Vigilantism may sound good to some, and I can't say for sure that I wouldn't at least think of doing the same thing, should it happen to a relative of mine... But I guess knee-jerk reactions like these just show that, as flawed as justice systems might be, it's good that it's against the law.
In lieu of a comment about "taking the law in your own hands", I'm just going to say "rest in peace".
Hope those guys face the consequences of what they did.
