is undergoing surgery on his sinuses after he developed a hole (perforation) in the cartilage of his nasal septum as a complication from years of cocaine use, reports Hennemusic.com
His wife Susan
writes on her Twitter profile:
"[I] am thankful and blessed my man is alive today! Kids, don't do drugs! Say a prayer for Duff as he's getting surgery on his sinuses (a hole the size of a quarter from years of abuse).
"We must live and learn how lucky we are for our health and family and friends. Love you, Duff.
In recent news, Duff McKagan is the latest person to help raise awareness for PETA
's Ink, Not Mink
program. But rather than donating money or putting on a concert, McKagan's involvement was much more revealing.
The Ink, Not Mink ad campaign is designed to prevent people from purchasing real furs and to help protect threatened animals. Both Duff and his supermodel/swimsuit designing wife contributed to the cause by posing nude for a charity advertisement.
I believe in further educating myself and other people in any way I can [about this issue]. Actions speak louder than words, and we're here to do something about it,
said Susan, in addition to claiming that fur clothing is both immoral and out of fashion.
Duff then went on to say that Seals have never seen humans, so they're not afraid of [humans]. They just sit there [as targets for slaughter]. I think kids are much more aware of things like this than we were.
