Faith No More Reunion In 2009

Faith No More Reunion In 2009

According to U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine, industry insiders suggest that hugely infuential '90s alt-metal band Faith No More is planning to return next year. Kerrang! understands that a number of U.K. venues have been placed on hold for shows from the band next spring, while U.K. festival appearances are rumored to follow in the summer. Founding bassist Bill Gould played down the speculation, telling Kerrang! "If anything like this were to happen, it would have to come from the band, and I haven't spoken with any of them in over a year. So as far as I know, there isn't anything to talk about, and I'm pretty sure that if you were to contact [Mike] Patton [vocals], he would tell you the same thing."

Despite several years of vigorously denying claims the band would reform, Mike Patton seems to have softened in recent months. In an interview with the Artisan News Service in January, he said "I wouldn't rule it out. I don't think we need to reform the band, but maybe there's other things we could do together."

Watch video footage of Mike Patton talking about Faith No More and "The Real Thing" at this location.

Thanks for the report to Blabbermouth.net.

To me they're like Stone Temple Pilots: I like them but not THAT much. I got a nice 2 disc compilation of them and if they ever drop by at a nearby European festival this summer I'll definetly go and see them. That's enough for me

HAHA! yesterday i just said to my friend 'wouldnt it be awesome if faith no more reunited?'

thats insane!!! on that same day we covered 'epic' at band practice for fun, then we got in the car to go get some food and sure enough epic was on the radio....it was all a sign, it was!

One of the best bands ever and one of the only bands that coud reform and do something just as original, fresh and crackin' as they have done previously.
They entangle so many different styles of music and sounds together that, even now, they would still be able to conjure up some great material.

"FAITH NO MORE REUNITING OMGZZZZ" - title.

Not very accurate when the only member of the band to speak out about it says nothing's happening.

I discount the 11 months out of date Patton interview, which also basically says FNM is dead anyhow.
I see UG has been reading the Daily Express. "BREAKING NEWS IN DIANA INVESTIGATION - FRENCH POLICE STILL DON'T KNOW"...

Trey Spruance wrote on 12/01/2008 - 01:48 pm / quote |

...But I don't think it's going to happen.

This would definitely b the coolest reunion in some time. They got to get Jim Martin back and out of the pumpkin patch. Epic is just a taste of what this band is capable of. They have masterpieces besides Epic.
I hope it happens and I hope they do it soon. Few can do it as good as Mike

oh and btw, our economy was great in the 90s, we didnt go into debt until this decade.

that's not exactly true. theres an interview on youtube with mike patton. he claims that he had some ups and some downs with the band over the decade that they were together, but overall it was a great time that he learned a lot from. So who knows?

GuitaPlaya wrote on 12/01/2008 - 08:25 pm / quote |
I wonder if this has anything to do with the Jesus Lizard reunion. For those of you who don't know, Patton is in a band with Duane Denison, the Lizard's guitarist, they're called Tomahawk. Maybe Patton was thinking, "Well if Duane is having a reunion with his old band, maybe I should do the same."

starlightfury wrote on 12/01/2008 - 09:14 pm / quote |
one of my best friends' uncle is jim martin, the ex-guitarist for this band, and I took lessons for a short amount of time at the same place he learned to play, ABC music in Castro Valley, CA. I'll ask him if he's heard anything about a reunion.
