Flight Of The Conchords Show To End

Flight Of The Conchords stars Jemaine Clement and Bret Mckenzie have disappointed fans after announcing their hit show is over.

The comedy series has won over critics and fans alike since its 2007 debut, but the New Zealand duo have decided to move away from the spotlight and end the project for good.

In a statement published on the Conchords' official website, the stars write, "We've noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won't be returning for a third season.

"We're very proud of the two seasons we made and we like the way the show ended. We'd like to thank everyone who helped make the show and also everyone who watched it.

"While the characters Bret and Jemaine will no longer be around, the real Bret and Jemaine will continue to exist."

I liked the series, but I didn't have HBO, so watching it was kind of a hassle, and I never really liked it as much as their live performances. So I hope that, in some way, we'll still see them playing stuff live. These guys are awesome.

its always a hard decision to make, but as someone famous once said, go out with a bang (i assume someone famous said that). one of the best shows in recent years by far and i'm glad it went out on a strong note.

Good on them, not milking it. Keeping the quality of their output high. With that said, I'll be interested to see what they do next; be good to see them working together in the future though.

I've forgotten exactly what but I think something (maybe some wording in their HBO website months ago) made it clear that the second season was the final one. So for me, this is quite an old news. It does suck. And I felt that the ending was too abrupt.

That's kind of how music/comedy series on HBO go (just see Tenacious D). A short but glorious life. I wouldn't be surprised if they start making more film appearances or make a stronger push on the album sales front.

I wanted to see one more season. It probably couldn't have done well after that, but I thought although the second season's songs weren't as good, the plotlines were funnier and the show itself was better. I wonder how the third could have been.

Good on them. The second season was still funny, but nowhere near as good as season 1. Some of it felt a little forced and I dont think I would have liked a season 3 that much.

Aww this sucks. But I never really watched the show, and the songs from the show werent as good as the live stuff I've heard. As long as they still do live shows and possibly a few live albums, this isn't too big a deal for me really.
