Former Pink Floyd Manager Dies At 66 |

Bryan Morrison, the music impresario who managed Pink Floyd and The Pretty Things, has died after spending more than two years in a coma.
After managing The Pretty Things, Morrison began putting on gigs for the early Pink Floyd. He later managed the band, but made his fortune in publishing music for the likes of T-Rex, The Bee Gees, The Jam and Wham!.
Famously, Morrison had his finger bitten - drawing blood - by an irate Syd Barrett after the Pink Floyd guitarist claimed he hadn't received a royalty cheque.
Morrison's major love was polo. He owned the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club and played regularly until 2006, when an accident put him in a coma.
Morrison's family had been told by doctors that there was little chance of him recovering from his injuries, and it is believed that he died on Friday (September 26) after contracting an infection, reports The Daily Mail.
His death comes less than two weeks after Pink Floyd founder member Rick Wright lost his battle with cancer, aged 65.

I'm surprised other Legends such as Alice Cooper, arn't dead! Its good that they're not, but considering all the drugs, cigs, and alcohol of the 70s and 80s....
RIP Bryan. POSTED: 09/30/2008 - 11:11 am / quote |

I hope that death doesn't claim any more of Floyd anytime soon, the surviving members must be going through alot now with boths Ricks and Bryans death so close together POSTED: 09/30/2008 - 12:03 pm / quote |

Ozzy-Alice-Richards- so yeah....
Who knows. But it is very sad to hear all this news about Floyd. A band I grew up on that I won't be able to see live. Thank god I saw Ozzy while I still had the chance >.<

Though I must say, maybe its a sign that we need the Floyd to reunite while they still can. Plus the world is pretty ****ing bleak right now, we need another Pink Floyd album (or the return of The Stone Roses, whichever comes first).POSTED: 09/30/2008 - 12:55 pm / quote |

: No offense, but how the hell do you compare The Floyd to the Stone Roses? Maybe it's a British thang... I barely remember the Stone Roses and I couldn't even name a single song. They sure didn't do too well here in America. I remember MTV playing their video once and people trying to market them as the next big thing, but it never happened here.
On another note... you know what's weird... watermelon Jolly Ranchers. Seriously, those things taste so odd. I just had actual watermelon last night and it tasted nothing like the Jolly Rancher version. Just food for thought (literally).
RIP former Floyd manager...btw, I'm still bummed about Rick Wright.POSTED: 09/30/2008 - 06:03 pm / quote |

: Sad to hear, although unless a coma is everything you could dream of it being, it was probably a pretty shitty way to be living. At least he never had to know he was dying, which is probably a rather peaceful way to go (unless a coma is your imagination, in which case you could actually be dying in the coma as well, having been eating by a 30 foot tall wizard).
BTW, I'm not making fun of the man, but rather trying to brighten the mood by giving comas the slap in the face they deserve, and secretly holding out hope that if I were ever to go into a coma, it would be a grand adventure.POSTED: 10/01/2008 - 01:49 am / quote |
