According to a report on Nme.com, Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos said he wants to write a musical.
While on tour with his band in Australia, the frontman told a radio station that he's always thought about writing a musical but has just never had the time to start writing it with Franz Ferdinand recording and traveling.
"
I did have this amazing idea, I've been keeping it a secret for ages!" he said. "
I think it would make an amazing musical."
Kapranos stated the musical would revolve around the idea of portraying a modern celebrity.
"The thing is, what would make a great musical would be to pick a contemporary figure, like somebody from either current times of the last 10 years," he said. "Somebody who's had a big impact. And write it about them."
Kapranos confirmed he does have a celebrity already in mind and that it's not a musician. Recently, the group revealed they are already working on new material that sounds different from past works but stated they wouldn't elaborate on their next album until it's done.
