Damon Albarn has formed a new band, according to reports. The Blur and Gorillaz star is understood to be rehearsing with a group called the Good The Bad And The Queen.
Albarn is said to have recruited Paul Simonen, formerly of the Clash, to play bass, along with ex-Verve guitarist and part-time Blur member Simon Tong. Tony Allen, Fela Kuti's drummer, is also in the band, who will release their debut single in October, claim this month's Mojo magazine.
Apparently the
Good The Bad And The Queen will play their first show together at the BBC's Electric Proms season at the Roundhouse venue in London this October.
There has been no confirmation about plans for the music Albarn has been working on with Danger Mouse, who produced the last Gorillaz album and is one-half of Gnarls Barkley.
Thanks for the report to Y! Music.
