I've been writing a song called "Gabriella". Damn you, Green Day!
I knew it wasn't a very original title from the start, but if Green Day's song sounds even remotely like mine, I'll be shocked, flattered, and disappointed all at once.
I've heard two of these new songs (inc. Amy) and they sound a lot like some songs from Nimrod. The first line from the verses in Amy sound a lot like the first line from the verses in Walking Alone
One thing I've liked a lot of the post-American Idiot Green Day are the lyrics. Not because they're not about masturbating or sex or drugs; but because they're really a whole lot more mature, more polished. I enjoyed quite a lot Amy's lyrics. Can't wait to see what these guys have been up to.
I really can't wait for them to release a new album so they can go out on the road again, their live show is really something to behold, I can't wait to see them again
Maybe the reason why Green Days songs sound so familiar is because they keep ripping off older british invasion songs... Amy sounds like time of the season by the zombies in some parts.
That was better than anything from 21st Century Breakdown.
Sounds very old school rock and roll, mixed with Green Day. I like it. I hope when they record it in the studio, it winds up sounding good, because it's not a bad song.

It reminded me of Let's Live for Today by the Grass Roots, in the choruses.
That's pretty awesome of them. That would be one hell of a surprise if you go to see your favorite band and get a whole album's worth of new material that night.

Hmmm try seeing them more than twice and you will realise his patter and antics never change and actually iritates you more than entertains you.Seen them 4 times live and never again.

This. I saw them twice with their last tour and the second time it just annoyed me how much he dragged out songs by getting the crowd to chant etc. Plus it was a three hour setlist that was identical to when I saw them in 2005 except with some 21st Century songs in there. Quite weak tbh. Great band though!
