Dave Grohl has denied there are plans for a Nirvana reunion tour, calling the rumors "nonsense".
Grohl had reformed the living Nirvana lineup of Krist Novoselic and touring guitarist Pat Smear with Beatles legend Paul McCartney for the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy relief concert and then Saturday Noght Live, prompting rumours of a full scale tour.
However, they have recorded a studio version of their original song "Cut Me Some Slack", which will feature on the soundtrack to Dave Grohl's new Sound City film. You can hear it in the player below.
Details for the full "Sound City - Real To Reel" soundtrack were revealed this week. It features performances from a range of leading rockstars collaborating on songs, including Trent Reznor, Corey Tayor, Josh Homme and many more.

Every since that performance has caused all this bullshit to arise over 'Nirvana' reuniting, I wish they'd never gotten together with McCartney in the first place. No Kurt, no true Nirvana reunion
Guys, who cares what they call it? It's the closest thing to a Nirvana reunion we'll ever get, and all the living members of Nirvana were a part of it. Just like the Beatles "reunited" for the anthology. No one is putting down Kurt by calling this a "Nirvana reunion". The song is good and that's all that matters.
Actually Dave Grohl stated that the recording of the song 'I Should Have Known' on the album 'Wasting Light', was going to be the closest thing to a Nirvana reunion that the world will ever have.
I doubt if they had a reunion they would tour as nirvana, or the beatles or whatever. it would be like Them Crooked Vultures. I don't now why Nirvana fans are getting so mad at these titles. Who cares
what the hell is wrong with arist bringin back the past? are they running out of money and know they will make a quick buck? dre and snoop got 2pac hologram and now this. and best thing to them is you don't have to pay 2pac or kurt ... just let it go.. there gone.
I just don't understand all the hate and negativity. It's just some dudes making music (awesome at that) and being happy, yet everyone in the whole god damn ****ing world got to act as if there is a stick driven up their asses and freak the **** out because these guys wanted to play some music together for SNL and the 12/12/12 Benefit concert. I am not the biggest fan of the Beatles and Nirvana, they're great and all, but come on, seriously? This song is great, they played well. The ****, world?
lol i love that the only reason its a "nirvana reunion" is because krist came out of hiding and did a gig with dave and pat. If he wasnt there this whole nirvana reunion junk wouldnt be going on
