Guns N' Roses Guitarist: 'Axl's Voice Is Better Than Ever'

Guns N' Roses news site GunsNRoses.us has posted the following message from GNR guitarist Richard Fortus:

"The [European] shows have been going well. Axl's [Rose] voice is better than ever. Everyone is looking forward to the record finally being released. We are all very excited.

"Thanks to you and to all of the fans that haven't given up on us! This is the year!"

As previously reported, Guns N' Roses looks likely to return for more U.S. shows this autumn, possibly starting in September, according to a press release. Following the band's recent four-night stand in New York City, their first live shows since late 2002, Rose said, "We've just finished our four shows in New York and had an amazing time. New York has always been special and it feels great to be doing this again particularly in front of so many friends. I am very excited about Europe and getting back over here in September."

The group, which features no original members from its classic lineup other than Axl, began a run of European festival shows on May 25.

Rose has been saying that the band's long-delayed new album, "Chinese Democracy", will be out later this year.

I didn't even know who the current guns n'roses guitarist was! By the sounds of some of the stuff i've been hearing I dont think i'll go see him live. What pissed me off the most was the stuff about him arriving like 90 minutes late for a show even if he is good i wouldnt stand for that.

So what's your point? Scott Weillands heroin is better than ever and even though hes a washed up rockstar, he'll always sound better than axl's annoying voice. But personally I don't care much for neither of them, if you wanna hear a good rock singer of today listen to chris cornell.

what pisses me off about axl showing up 90 minutes late to a show is that what the hell is he doing thats more important than the show he's about to put on for thousands of people? what could he have possibly been doing that made him have to make his band and fans wait for him?

i like axl rose and love Guns n' roses but it ticks me off so much when people say that afd was their only good cd and diss on axl, the album is gosh darn delayed cuz hes a perfectionist, hes obsessive, thus his rampages onstsage, he even stopped a concert cuz the crowd wasnt loud enough, he just wants everything to be perfect, thats why they hired those orchestra chicks, actually slash did for november rain and others
also you people do realize that its been without the "original group" longer then with? meaning that they couldnt be the "real GNR" dont get me wrong! i love afd, i just dont think we shud be so close minded and well ignorant as to ignore the Use Your ullusion albums, GNR lies and not give axl a chance to prove himself, for this will shurely be a test of all the money and work he pured into it,

lets just wait and see... Maybe the Album will be out one day, or maybe not.. But maybe we're mistaking about Axl, I mean.. he is the same guy he was with Slash, Duff, Matt/ Steven, Izzy....so he is not a bastard now, but he has been from the beginning. Anyway my point is.. maybe Axl fired Slash, Duff, etc.. for a better future in Gn'R, we can't say what will happen about them, ye they are in a hard time right now.. but.. maybe behind the scenes, they're making up, and re-inventing Gn'R, maybe they will surprise us in the end... thanks...
