Acclaimed rock photographer Gene Kirkland is making limited-edition copies of some of his Guns N' Roses photos available through Blastwaves Merchandise at Blastwaves.com. Gene spent years traveling the world with Guns N' Roses and was one of only a few photographers that were given deep access to the band throughout their career. His photos are among the most famous images of the band. Each photo is available in either 8" x 10", 11" x 14" and 16" x 20" sizes. They are in a limited edition of 99 and all are signed by Gene.
As of yesterday (July 13), Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has been sober for 10 months. "I quit drinking in the middle of recording because I had a real problem," Taylor told the New York Daily News. "I was drinking a bottle-and-a-half of whisky every night, sometimes more, waking up the next day and regretting it, and then doing it all over again. My wife grabbed me and said, 'Either you stop drinking or I take the kids and I leave.' It was a pretty easy choice."
A streaming video of Eddie Van Halen's classic "Eruption" solo, as interpreted and performed by Atlanta rock violinist Bobby Yang, has been posted online at Yang's web site. Bobby's version, which is said to be "all acoustic, [with] no pedals, no amp, no wires" ? can be viewed at the following locations: Hi, Lo.
The forthcoming Soundtrack for "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" has now been pushed back to an August 31st release date via Roadrunner/Island/Def Jam. As previously reported, artists confirmed to appear on it so far include Slipknot, A Perfect Circle, Rob Zombie, Killswitch Engage and Lacuna Coil, with more to be announced shortly.
The forthcoming new releases from A Perfect Circle (the live DVD, remix album, and possibly their next album) are all now expected out through Virgin on November 16th. More details will be announced in due course.
Story Of The Year, Lostprophets, My Chemical Romance, and Letter Kills will be on tour together, starting 9/17 in Tuscon, AZ, and ending on 10/16 in Chicago, IL. Full tour schedule and ticket info will be posted as soon as they become available.
