Invitro is the new project from ex-Snot/Soulfly guitarist Mikey Doling that made quite a name for themselves on the Family Values tour this summer. Their debut 'When I Was A Planet' hit stores this month and to celebrate we asked frontman Jeff Weber to pick his favorite five tracks from the CD and tell us a little bit about each one.
We'll now turn it over to him for today's song "king":
The lyrical content in king is often viewed as nothing other than word play. Some of the lyrical choices are light hearted and humorous, referring to don king, burger king and the lion king, but underneath the message of the song is that we need to perhaps think of who we're choosing as our leaders and influences in life.
This wasn't an attempt to be political or sanctimonious, but rather a personal reminder think about what I wanted to bring to the world with the opportunities I've been given...and I wanted to write amusing lyrics.
