Jack White: Third Man Records Starts Live-Show Vinyl Series

Jack White's Third Man Records has announced a series of live in-studio performances that will be open to the public and then pressed onto limited-edition vinyl.

The shows, which will give young music fans who can’t get into over-21 shows a chance to see their favorite acts, also provide bands with an opportunity to play for a crowd and record a live album in White’s custom-designed studio.

Multi-angle videos of the performances will be posted on Third Man’s website. The Dex Romweber Duo kicked off the series with a February 4 performance.

Those who attend the performances will not only have the opportunity to spin records on open turntables before and after the show, but they can also snag a limited edition black and blue vinyl LP of the live recording. If you can’t get to Music City, plain black LPs will be available online.

Jack White. What a guy. I don't think there's anyone who's more passionate and dedicated to music than this man right here.

Because Vinyl is already making a comeback and has for the past few years. A lot of bands / artists release Vinyl editions for collectors. I have several Led Zeppelin re-released 200gram Vinyl sealed copies that are worth A LOT right now. Got them for a fraction of the cost when I purchased them a year ago.

Also I have Elephant & Icky Thump still sealed. Red/White Vinyl for Elephant.

because third man records is a vinyl record company, anything he records in third man that gets released as a cd will be released through a seperate distributor, as far as i understand it.
