Joe Satriani To Appear On 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno'

Legendary guitarist Joe Satriani will appear on NBC-TV's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on Monday, November 29. Satriani will join Rickey Minor and The Tonight Show Band throughout the entire program and will perform some of his signature songs as well as various rock favorites.

"Light Years Away", the new video from Joe Satriani, can be viewed here. The song comes off Satriani's 14th studio album, "Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards", which sold 10,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 45 on The Billboard 200 chart. This marked the highest opening chart position ever for the Grammy-nominated guitarist.

Satriani's North American dates will begin on December 1 in Atlanta, with scheduled dates in Chicago, New York, Boston. The second leg of Satriani's "Black Swans" tour will begin on January 4, 2011 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, with dates confirmed to follow in Seattle, Portland, the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Reno, Las Vegas and Texas.

Joining Joe on the road are veteran Satriani bandmate Jeff Campitelli on drums, and newcomers, keyboardist Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai) and bassist Allen Whitman (Mermen), all of whom recorded with Joe on this album. Satriani's classic six-string sound has become a staple on the American music scene and is now matched with a tantalizingly rich texture of new material as well. All together, both album and tour, Joe Satriani's "Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards" promises nothing less than a magical, musical experience that lifts the spirit and takes flight.

Jay Leno should just focus on getting acts that appeal to the elderly population considering zero young people watch his show.

I see you don't watch Jimmy Fallon. He has guest musicians play with the Roots almost every night. Further showing that Leno and Letterman bring nothing original to the table. They could at least try to be funny... or fun.

NOOOOO!!! JOE!! WHYYY?!?! Ive been avoiding to watch Jay Leno since he took over coco's spot.I notice he gets alot of guests I like, I still refuse to watch him..just so theres no way his ratings/viewers would get up 1 point by me watching. But just a few weeks ago, Brian Wilson was a guest,and as a big fan, I had to watch..WASN'T WORTH IT..it was awful, hes terrible at interviewing. And now Joe is gonna be there?? mannnnn come on!! go to Craig Ferguson instead!!!

Jimmy Fallon isn't just funny, but he takes a genuine interest in his guests, and you know he's having fun every time he does his show. Conan is good too, I watch him and Jimmy Fallon religiously, but he's not really original outside of having good jokes.

Just because they read cue cards (only because it'd be impossible to memorize an hour's worth of show on a day-to-day basis; aside from the fact that most movies, and other T.V shows use cue cards as well) doesn't mean you can't be original. When I see Jay Leno talking about a 94 year-old wing walker and I go, what is he going to have a doctored video of an old lady using a walker on an airplane, and then that's what he does, he's not original. Letterman is even worse, I haven't seen him in so long that I couldn't give you an example.
Conan was an SNL writer, he writes a lot of his own stuff, Andy Richter is also one of his writers. Jimmy Fallon was a cast member and writer, and also takes part in the writing on his show. I don't care whether Jay or Dave write themselves, because whenever I watch them I can either see their jokes coming from 5 miles away, or they just aren't remotely funny.
