Marilyn Manson's former guitarist John 5 is set to surprise fans with his new band Loser's debut album, because it doesn't contain any heavy metal songs, reports PR-Inside.
Following his recent work with Rob Zombie -- co-writing and playing on the album 'Educated Horses' -- John 5 will release his next project's debut album "Just Like You" on June 5.
Marking a move away from dark metal, the guitarist has explained the sound of Loser saying:
"I like to play metal, but sometimes it's like doing the same thing over and over. It's good to have a little bit more variety, like eating different foods. And even if they're surprised, I hope people will like the band and recognise that hey, it's not metal, but these are really good songs."
Tracks set to appear on the LP include "Disposable Sunshine," "Without You (Inside Out)" and "Nobody Knows."
John 5 started working on Loser in 2004, soon after he left Manson. He hooked up with producer/songwriter Bob Marlette -- with whom he worked on Two's Voyeurs, his collaboration with Rob Halford, in 1997 -- and quickly penned a batch of new tunes. Then he began looking for bandmates. Marlette found ex-Jibe singer Joe Grah during a trip to Texas to check out a band that had been recommended to him. "As it turned out, they weren't that great and the singer wasn't that great, but Joe was in the band that played after them, and he was incredible," John said.
Loser's line-up is completed by singer Joe Grah, bassist Charles Lee and drummer Glendon Crane.
