Sweden’s definitive progressive metal outfit, Katatonia, has finally unleashed its eighth studio album, Night Is The New Day, in the US and Canada, courtesy of Peaceville Records. The new record, which released in Europe last week, is the follow up to the highly acclaimed 2006 release, The Great Cold Distance.
"
Night Is The New Day is possibly the greatest 'heavy' record I've heard in the last 10 years," states
Opeth’s
Mikael Akerfeldt.
"Night is the New Day is so strong, I’m confident with a little elbow grease Katatonia might just be the darlings of 2009. If they aren’t, I’m kicking ass and taking names," raves Decibel Magazine.
