Terry Bozzio is replacing Korn drummer David Silveria during his temporary hiatus from the band, as reported by Martini Republic.
Bozzio, 57, who is long considered one of the greatest drummers in rock history, will be replacing David Silveria for at least one studio album and tour.
Silveria is taking time out from the band supposedly to maintain his restaurants -- Tuna Town and Silvera's Steakhouse & Lounge -- plus spend quality time with the family.
Bozzio has recorded with numerous musicians on hundreds of albums across the musical spectrum, including Robbie Robertson, Gary Wright, Don Dokken, Paul Hyde, Herbie Hancock, Frank and Dweezil Zappa, Richard Marx, Jeff Beck, Duran Duran, Explorer's Club, Billy Sheehan, Steve Vai, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, among others.
Thanks to KSN for the information.

: I threw up.
No offense to Korn fans, I used to be a huge one, but just, no. Bozzio is acclaimed, he is incredible, the work he did with F. Zappa is unmatched (especially the work on the documentary "Baby Snakes"), just can't imagine him lowering to the level of Korn given his great technical abilities.
And before anyone flames my opinion here, I used to listen to a lot of Korn and I play drums so I can effectively compare the drumming of both Silveria and Bozzio, Bozzio FTW. POSTED: 01/08/2007 - 03:04 pm / quote |

: He has to have short-man syndrome to wanna have a drum set that big. I hope he's good though. I'm kinda sad; it seems Korn is falling apart before our very eyes. First Head leaves, then some song-writing team comes into the game, now David's leaving? POSTED: 01/08/2007 - 03:07 pm / quote |

: I love Korn like no other, but really don't see what Silveira brings to the band, there is no unique drums in any Korn song, bass and guitar make up Korn's Music, maybe Bozzio can make the drums a factor in Korn.
BOZZIO FTW.POSTED: 01/08/2007 - 04:04 pm / quote |

his set may seem overkill but he does use all of it. i always thought he was more of a jazz fusion drummer but im sure he can play anything. korn must be paying him well.POSTED: 01/08/2007 - 04:21 pm / quote |

Wow, I guess it's hard to mess up when you have like 16 crash cymbals in front of your face. Still, it's like those dudes who drive those lifted trucks on the freeway; it all comes down to either being short or having a small package. POSTED: 01/08/2007 - 04:32 pm / quote |

: he is a great drummer, but jus b/c he has the biggest doesnt make him the best drummer ever, thats like saying the biggest guitar makes you the best player,i have seen jazz drummers on a 4 piece set rock better than some people with a 12 piece or higher, but this guy is a good drummer nonetheless..POSTED: 01/08/2007 - 07:46 pm / quote |

i cannot understand why people would go to a thread entitled "Korn Drummer Replacement Revealed" just to bash on korn and its members. its clear from the title that its a damn korn thread, and it seems you people can only get joy by pissing off a bunch of fans from the safety of their living rooms. get a ****ing life.
i dont see how they chose this guy. though i've never heard of him, he has quite an impressive resume. i just hope he keeps the same relative style of david. his drumming is a big part of why i love korn. its so unique.
by the way, does anyone know where David has these restaurants? maybe i could pop in and say hi.... lol. right....POSTED: 01/08/2007 - 07:50 pm / quote |

: I'm no Korn fan but have listened to some of their songs. They're okay but are nowhere close to say Pantera or Ministry. They are one of the few good bands among that crappy timewasters called 'nu-metallers' who cant even play a decent guitar solo. Personnaly i feel Linkin Park, Deftones and Slipknot suck. Anyway Terry Bozzio is a legend just because he has played with two guitarists i idolise a lot, Jeff Beck(anyone listened to the Guitar Shop album? thats both of them playing) and Frank Zappa. This is just and old veteran's way to pass some time. Anyway it'll be fun to listen to the finished studio product. POSTED: 01/08/2007 - 11:40 pm / quote |

: hmm, this doesnt make much sense to me, unless Korn is going in a different direction for this album. Bozzio just doesnt seem to really fit in with thier style IMO. might be interesting tho...POSTED: 01/09/2007 - 12:28 am / quote |

: Korn suck nowadays.. Every album after issues has been absolute crap.. a few songs on untouchables were okay, but otherwise imo they are finished
