LA Guns Hires Dilana

Tracii Guns has confirmed that Dilana Robichaux has joined L.A. Guns as the band's new vocalist.

"Dilana is the new singer for L.A. Guns," Tracii confirmed in a statement. "After an incredible amount of scrutiny and mixed opinions the final straw was her audition, where she completely took control of the environment by injecting a type of soul into these old new songs that I have never heard before."

"After getting responses from the label, my agent and manager - who are all really into a drastic positive change for L.A. Guns and myself - we all feel this is a ballsy and risky change that we all collectively feel good about. I expect there will be some changes in the live setlist and I hope we can get straight into writing mode ASAP and record some fresh rock n' roll, also ASAP."

South Africa-born Robichaux was a runner-up on the TV show Rock Star: Supernova, whose winner Lucas Rossi went on to form a band with Motley Crue's Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke (ex-Guns 'n' Roses) and Jason Newstead (ex-Metallica). She was recently honored by the Mayor of the City of Los Angeles for her work as a spokeswoman for domestic violence foundation Safe Passage.

I loved this band in the mid 80's, but it's hard for me to imagine a woman taking over the sex, booze and tattoos lyrics. I guess they're gonna be doing a lot of re-writing.

That's interesting news. Definitely gonna check 'em out. I love Dilanas voice, she just never had really great songs. Hope that's gonna change with this combination.

This is Tracii Guns' L.A. Guns.

I would say that, since Tracii Guns has been the only static member of L.A. Guns throughout the years and the many, many, many incarnations of the band, whichever L.A. Guns has Tracii Guns is the real L.A. Guns.

Tracii Guns left L.A. Guns once in the 80's and again in the new millenium. THE L.A. Guns is with Phil Lewis, th other is simply Tracii Guns thinking that L.A. Guns ended when he left so he thinks he can recreate what is still existing.

Idiot.

The Guns with Phil is better anyways, live and in person. I'm lucky enough to have performed on the same bill at my local venue as the Guns, and they are fantastic live and fantastic people.

Come on,really. Phils version of La Guns is the best. Tracii is just an egotistical showboat. Phil is the voice of Guns. You go to a concert to hear the original songs the way they were recorded. Phil is better than ever. I seen Tracii's version 3 year ago when Marty Casey was the singer and i only went because I am a fan of Marty. I would check out Dilana if they come around but only for $10-15, but thats just to see Dilana otherwise its Phil for me. I never miss a show with Phils guns. In fact I will be seeing them in 3 days.
