As previously announced, Italy’s Lacuna Coil will be kicking off their headlining July run on the American Spellbound Tour this Saturday, July 4th. Kill Hannah, Seventh Void and Dommin will support Lacuna Coil on their first headlining US tour in over two years. The American Spellbound Tour marks the first US tour the band has been on since they rocked the main stage of the Music as a Weapon Tour IV this past spring (alongside Disturbed, Killswitch Engage and Chimaira).
Vocalist Cristina Scabbia comments, " Our First American headlining tour in support of our new album ‘Shallow Life’ is gonna start soon, and of course the level of excitement in the Lacuna Coil family is really, really high." Scabbia continues, " We can't wait! It's gonna be a party every night, with all our fans, new ones and old school ones!"
Following the completion of these headlining dates, the band will jet home to Europe to play a few festivals, including the legendary hard rock Wacken Open Air Festival (July 30th), alongside such heavyweights as Heaven And Hell, before returning stateside to captivate the US yet again beginning on August 7th.
The band’s fifth album release, "Shallow Life", was produced by Don Gilmore (Duran Duran, Good Charlotte, Pearl Jam), and released April 21st through Century Media Records. "Shallow Life" debuted at #16 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, the highest mark in Century Media history. The album has been described as, "simply infectious" by Alternative Press Magazine. Outburn Magazine declares, "With ‘Shallow Life’, Italy’s Lacuna Coil have become an international powerhouse."
Lacuna Coil’s first single off "Shallow Life", Spellbound, has been added to radio station play lists across the country, and is currently #2 on the Mediabase Independent Label Chart (Active Rock). It has received nearly 5,000 spins to date. The video for the single is currently enjoying a run as the #1 most requested video on the prestigious MTV UK "Myspace Chart" now for two weeks in a row.

: I do love Lacuna Coil, not so much the stuff on Shallow Life though, but I can't say I'd wanna see any of the support acts if this was a UK tour, so I'm glad I saw the Coil last year with a better set of bands. Kill Hannah playing the same stage as LC? Urgh :/POSTED: 07/03/2009 - 02:34 pm / quote |

: I actually like this band.
And even when their sound started to get more "commercial" (whatever that means) i liked them.
Since the beggining until now, they never disappointed me.
And since i play and write songs in a gothic metal band, they influence me a lot.POSTED: 07/03/2009 - 04:25 pm / quote |

LOL!! I only liked two songs from this band, I don't particularly regard them as anything decent but I do respect they're music. I've seen them 3 times and each show varies, one show was amazing, the second started off great and kinda died towards the end and the third was disappointing. Still, it's good to see they're out touring and promoting their new album and not releasing it through starbucks exclusively or whatever lolPOSTED: 07/04/2009 - 06:56 am / quote |

: I don't understand, the album was horrible. I bought it out of obligation to a much beloved band and found myself being incredibly bored.
