Lamb Of God Signs With Roadrunner

Roadrunner Records has announced the signing of Lamb Of God for all territories outside North America.

"Having toured with countless Roadrunner bands both domestically and overseas Lamb Of God has had the chance to see the amount of promotion and support the label puts into their bands. The foreign territories seem a perfect place to put the two machines in motion together. We look forward to a long partnership! Cheers!" enthuses frontman Randy Blythe. Roadrunner's Senior VP International, Wally van Middendorp, agrees, "Roadrunner and Lamb Of God are a perfect match. We're excited to be working with them. Everyone is looking forward to taking LAMB OF GOD to the next level!"

The first Lamb Of God release on Roadrunner will be an all-new, two-DVD set on June 30, 2008.

The "Walk With Me In Hell" two-DVD set features over five hours of incredible, all-access footage. Disc 1 contains the highly anticipated feature documentary "Walk With Me In Hell" and multiple live performance extras from across the globe on the "Sacrament" world tour. The documentary chronicles every detail in the lives of Lamb Of God as they completed recording and toured around the world nearly three times over in support of the highly praised 2006 album "Sacrament".

Disc 2 includes an additional full-length "Making of Sacrament" feature plus LAMB OF GOD's entire, uncut, brutal performance at the Download festival 2007, where they performed in front of over 72,000 fans. Extras include deleted scenes, live performance videos for various tour stops, the official music video for "Redneck", and a "Making of Redneck" documentary.

"We're on stage for 90 minutes a day," says drummer Chris Adler. "People want to know what's going on for the other 22 ½ hours. It's not always limousines and champagne! 'Killadelphia' [LOG's previous platinum-certified DVD] surprised a lot of people and proved that we refuse to censor or hold anything back. True to the high standard that we hold ourselves to, 'Walk With Me In Hell' is unlike any music DVD I've ever seen. This is an entire new level of documentary taking you on an intense, worldwide journey with us."

He has a good throaty growl, but he does it the entire song, every song. There's not enough variety here. They are at the top of their genre, but they don't PUSH the genre into new territory.

You can have your opinions, you can love this band, that I'm not criticizing. But don't throw around phrases like "best song ever" or "best peice of music art." That's just completely unprecedented and has no base in any fact whatsoever.

As for LoG, brilliant live band, but not exactly my favorite band to listen to. Signing to roadrunner will only ensure their next album sells by the truckload. And as for the guy who mentioned opeth, Ghost reveries was pretty poor, watershed is meant to be really good though.

THAT said, I find that can be applied to late classical composers too... I do not like Mozart or Grieg and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata is the only classical work I really enjoy aside from Vivaldi's works.

so, i hope you guys realize, though a big record company, lamb of god will have to change completely to become mainstream, which they wont do. the only way i see lamb of god becoming mainstream is when the mass public decides to accept that type of music, then it'll be mass played, mass exposed, mass accepted, because let's face, lamb of god is one of my faves of all time, but mainstream is not ready for such brutality, the general public audience is not ready for it, and though every metalhead knows of them, that's nowhere near mainstream. yea they're a wellknown metal band even to some outside of the lifestyle, but their music will not mesh with mainstream and they're not goin to change it for mainstream because it's too big a change from what they are. everybody scared of them goin mainstream, quit yappin, not gonna happen, LoG would have to water down quite a bit, which if you know LoG, you know they won't do that.

...yea, though tight pants were worn in 80s metalbands, they weren't girl pants, though makeup even was worn by some, they (for the most part) did it for reasons other than lookin like a woman, though hair was typically long, it wasn't nearly as cheesed up as some of these hardcore bands and their little emo haircuts hairsprayed and flat ironed. i got no quarrel with you bro, just please don't compare bands like 'tallica and megadeth to the likes of today's hardcore.... . . ...it makes me wanna kill you.

"Sole greatest song/musical artwork"? Whatever man, there are so many people who could default to the standards of "Stairway to Heaven" or "Bohemian Rhapsody" and totally win this argument. Much less you just said they were greater than late composers like Beethoven or Mozart.

Lamb of God are good for what they make, dissonant Thrash Metal. But the band has hardly reached classic status, and either have their songs. Can that guy even sing? He has a good throaty growl, but he does it the entire song, every song. There's not enough variety here. They are at the top of their genre, but they don't PUSH the genre into new territory.

You can have your opinions, you can love this band, that I'm not criticizing. But don't throw around phrases like "best song ever" or "best peice of music art." That's just completely unprecedented and has no base in any fact whatsoever.

haha alrighty, let me clear something up; my above post was meant to state my opinions and how I feel about Lamb of God, yes it does not have any "base in fact" because it was not meant to. Lamb of God will keep me listening for hours on end, the classical artists you named wont. sure, LoG probably won't be remembered in hundreds of years time but that means jack all to me.

And as for the song Walk With Me in Hell, to me it has more power than any other ever written, hence my comment before, so while many arguments can be made for hundreds of classical songs or otherwise, they still don't scream musical emotion and power to me like that song does.

That is what music is. power and emotion, doesn't matter what genre or any 'classical status' the music is. simple as that.

This is interesting to see, because a few of my metalhead friends reckon that RR screws bands over. I personally have very little interest or knowledge in record labels and therefore don't know why people believe this is the case. After all, they did say in the Roadrunner United DVD that whenever metal is happening they're the first group there. I mean of course they're gonna sell themselves on their DVD, but I don't know what they've done that's so bad. I suppose you've just gotta ask the bands that have experience with RR.

Also I love Lamb Of God, so I do hope nothing goes wrong with this new contract. I might just have to get a copy of this DVD and watch it and find out all about two of my favourite guitarists and what makes them tick.

Yeah. In my opinion Sacrament is full of bad ass riffing. Its not bad, maybe old fans dont like the fact that band members got more talent and dont sound nothing like they did on their first record.

Ashes of the wake is so good it could work as an instrumental. The amount of badass riffing in that album is crazy.
