Liam Gallagher To Disband Oasis If Noel Goes Solo |

Liam Gallagher has vowed to disband Oasis if brother Noel makes a solo album.
The "Live Forever" singer is furious at the guitarist’s recent comments that he wants to make an LP on his own and has vowed the band will split before that happens.
Liam fumed: "I could do that, but I don’t want to do that. I’m in Oasis, you know what I mean? If everyone starts going off doing solo records then you might as well just f***ing split the band up.
" I’m part of a band and that’s the way it is. If you go on going off doing solo records then there’s no Oasis. Someone’s got to be here keeping it together."
Taking another swipe at Noel – who also claimed it would be "five years" before Oasis release another record together because of Liam’s lazy attitude - the rocker added the worst thing about being in Oasis was "being in a band with your f**ing brother".
Noel recently said Liam would "f***ing freak out" if he and the rest of the group – Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock - recorded their own material, but insisted he was going ahead with his plan.
Noel has also hinted that he is unsure how much longer the band can continue because of in-fighting during the current South American leg of their world tour.
He wrote on his MySpace blog: "We speak at bad times for the Oasis tour. Bad times. We are a rudderless ship at the minute. And there's a f***ing s**t-storm on the horizon. I guess all will be revealed in due course.
"Strange atmosphere. I wouldn't mind but we're in South America! Playing massive stadiums and there's a bit too much hrmph-ing going on for my liking. Shame really."
Thanks for the report to Livenews.com.

: What did you expect??? These guys have always been paranoid that the world might think that another band is better than they are. Liam's just scared that Noel going solo might be considered better than something he would do.
Jealous twits.

it means that finally the world is freed of Liam Gallagher's s*** talk, if they split up of course.
though i do think its a good idea thanoel should do solo stuff as it can help him relieve some songs that maybe wouldnt fit into an oasis style album, like some blues or something i don't know. but liam is so up himself its unbelievable.POSTED: 05/12/2009 - 12:44 pm / quote |

: As a lover of Oasis, Liam is right and wrong. He's right when he says someone's got to keep the band together. Noel is the principle songwriter, and without him, or by having him off for a few years making a record and touring, Oasis ceases to exist. Similarly, when artists start making solo albums, its a sign of the end times.
That being said, Noel shouldn't be forced into Oasis. Even though its really his band, he should be able to do what he likes seeing as he makes most of the material. But again, Oasis will not exist (even if its only a few years) without him, and he needs to at least promise to come back to Oasis to put the rest of the band and fans at ease.POSTED: 05/12/2009 - 06:34 pm / quote |

Jesus Christ, you're like the British lad stereotype personified. In case you hadn't noticed, the poncy pretty boy music scene went down the toilet about a year ago, along with razorlight and the rest of the "shit indie" crowd. The reason oasis aren't selling as many records as they used to is because their songs aren't as good as they used to be, accept it and move on.
As for your thoughts on Liam however, i completely agree with you, Noel is a talented songwriter and his solo record would probably be the best thing he's produced in around a decade.POSTED: 05/13/2009 - 10:06 am / quote |

Better musician overall yes, better voice though definatley goes to Liam, its the reason why he has his brother sing all of his songs. Dont get me wrong though, noel has a great voice too, but its very conventional sounding, liams voice is very unique and has style and swagger that makes up what Oasis is.
I hope Noel does a solo album, bc i know it would be amazing. Liam needs to just chill out and let him do it, and write songs of his own meantime. Pretty selfish that he wants to quit just bc of that, but it seems like hes all talk to me. You know noel meant it when he said liam would freak out if the rest of the band went on w/o him lol.
