Limp Bizkit To Reform

Limp Bizkit To Reform

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has fuelled rumours that the band are about to reform by writing a cryptic message on the band's MySpace page.

After enjoying hits such as UK Number One single "Rollin'" and "Take A Look Around" at the turn of the decade, Limp Bizkit split up in 2006.

Since then, rumours that the band were planning a comeback have been widespread.

In a posting on MySpace.com, Durst seemingly confirmed that the band were on the verge of reuniting.

"Hello my dear family members. Yes, it has been a while. But a while worth the wait," he wrote. "It is getting very close to time to drop the Bizkit on the universe. I say this with the absolute best intentions and motivation.

"We, Limp Bizkit, are excited about the future for us and for you. LBF is the way. LBF is for life. Let's stir some shit up my friends."

Former guitarist Wes Borland is unlikely to join the band if they do reform. As previously reported on Nme.com, Borland joined Marilyn Manson's band in August 2008.

Thanks for the info to Nme.com.

You gotta be kidding me. Limp Bizkit sucked, they were a good example of all the worst aspects of Nu Metal. Not to mention the fact that Fred Durst is one of the most asinine and inept front men in recent history.

Wes was amazing and I'll def give kudos to the rest of the band. They made decent enough songs that with a good vocalist/singer, could've been quite decent.I'll listen to it just to see how egotistically driven the band is by Fred Durst lol

Yeah, Limp Bizkit might have been decent with an actual vocalist. But Wes still made the right decision by leaving and making good music; the other members need to do the same. Although for some reason I'm getting a disturbing image of Fred Durst coming out with an acoustic solo album. Ouch.

The rest of the original band is actually pretty good. It was Fred that brought them to that level of annoying. They had a cool, different sound when they hit but his whiny voice was like nails on a chalkboard.

although this its very doubtful that there will be any original members other than fred, im stoked. love the limp. it would be amazing is wes came back. black light burns sucked pretty bad. pretty sweet he's playing with manson now though. but i think if fred has his head in the right place, he could lay down some killer tunes again.

i think the success of the reunion (if it does happen) depends on the replacement guitarist. If he's anywhere near as good as Wes then it might work.

But as much as I love the Bizkit, i can't help feeling that they just aren't relevant anymore and that a reunion would be pointless.

Okay , decent vocalist? Fred Durst was pretty damn good, as were all the guest musicians that they had in the first 2 albums.

Ever since Wes left, all he has done is shitty music, From First to Last, Black Light Burns, and now Marilyn Manson, all really awful bands. Oh and he did that tour stint with Japan X I think, which was shit as well. So your definition of "good music" is pretty far from it. Either that or your head is so up Sonny Moores ass that it's cutting off the oxygen to your brain.

Wes Borland will never top who he was in Limp Bizkit, never. He can never recreate those amazing nu metal riffs that he came out with, revolutionising the way you can tune and play your guitar (4 strings anyone?).

Yup, like me for instance. And I know Limp Bizkit was a pretty uncool band to listen to when I was in high school, but I still kinda liked 'em, especially the bass player and Wes (and the drummer wasn't that bad either).

But I always hated Fred. I hated his "sassy wigger" attitude and his poor vocal delivery (imagine a song like "My Way", only with a good singer...), whether he was rapping or singing. And he WRECKED "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin, right in front of Jimmy Page

But come to think of it, it wasn't all that bad that he was in that band because that way people would go "how do you mean you kinda like Limp Bizkit? They're so gay". And then I would go "sure, I hate their singer but there are worse bands around and if you pay close attention to the other bandmembers you'll notice that they're actually pretty good".

And then people would think of me as a really smart and objective person, so thanks Fred... I guess

Yip agreed. Fred is like Axl Rose, and Limp Bizkit are like Guns 'n Roses. Relevance is a key and I doubt either will find themselves fiting in with today's thriving metal/rock scene. Metal is in the best place it has been in a while and bands like Megadeth, Metallica, Machine Head and Slayer were able to make a comeback because people wanted thrash back. People dont want glam or nu metal back. (majority rules)

Fred is really bald now. Haha. (check his Wikipedia profile)

Despite all the complaints about metalcore, Id much prefer that to glam or nu metal.

Yeah, Limp Bizkit might have been decent with an actual vocalist. But Wes still made the right decision by leaving and making good music; the other members need to do the same. Although for some reason I'm getting a disturbing image of Fred Durst coming out with an acoustic solo album. Ouch.

I'm pretty sure Max Cavalera did the 4 string thing first :P

Fair play I didn't explain what I meant. I meant the whole tuning the guitar with 4 strings (Gb,Gb,B,E).

Who cares when anyone was in or out or big at the time? If you like a band, you should like a band for their music and not because they have a radio single. When a band goes out of style the music doesn't change and your views on the band shouldn't either.

Wait, Guns N Roses? I remember one of their shows where Axl Rose was "taken ill" so Sebastian Bach filled in, meaning at that gig, there were no original members of Guns N Roses actually on stage. Great live performers, yeah...

Also you talk about the integrity of this site when it publishes an article on an awesome nu metal band, yet you don't complain when they seem to do an article every time a member of Metallica ****ing breathes in, Jesus!

If Bizkit put a new album out, I hope it is at least semi-modern in sound and adapted to the resurgence of what they called "metal" in it's glory years. This means good riffs (not just open chords), some melody at least or solos, and some intelligent lyrics.

And I somehow doubt they will attempt the above, and as i am NOT looking forward to another rap-rock/ nu metal album, especially not from this decade, I am not gonna lose any sleep for this.

The only thing I really know about Tom Green is that he was in Road Trip, and that was one of the few of those sorts of movies that I found genuinely funny. Anyways, on topic...I'm going to be interested to see how they're actually received now, in fact I bet that no-one is going to care anymore seeing as all the Bizkit fans have grown up and moved on and today's 13-16 year old kid looks more to MCR and Fall Out Boy than the dying breed that is the rap-metal band...

Most nu-metal bands: Linkin Park, Slipknot, KoRn, Deftones, Mudvayne, System Of A Down, all make bigger news than any other metalcore or thrash band. Even look at the comment response to Limp Bizkit, still seem pretty relevant to me. Most nu-metal bands: Linkin Park, Slipknot, KoRn, Deftones, Mudvayne, System Of A Down, all make bigger news than any other metalcore or thrash band. Even look at the comment response to Limp Bizkit, still seem pretty relevant to me. Limp Bizkit is pretty mediocre music but guaranteed most of us used to love them, and I believe a tour would be cool. With all this flaming, bet 90% of you concert goers would go.Limp Bizkit is a superior metal band? Thanks for my the laughs. Rofl.

Thanks for the bigger laugh.

making bigger news doesnt make a band better. Im sure there are more idiot children in the world who listen to Fagout Boy and such other non talented riff recycling mediocre excuse for music bands, but that doesnt make them good in our eyes, especially seeing as how this is a site for guitarists, and quite frankly the last thing that comes to mind when I think of innovative and catchy guitar playing is garbage like this.

Also, yes we USED to love them, but that only takes it a step further. Limp Bizkit is becoming known as one of those childish bands which all the children listen to cus you know "swear words are so cool" and it gives them an excuse to swear. However its probably the largest case of "outgrown music" ever. I cant recall a person with any sort of musical knowledge once claiming that bands he liked included limp Bizkit. Its childrens music, like Ruffi or the Wiggles, but once you actually grow a pair, or start crapping blood, youll realize it was just a dumb phase in your life.

Limp Bizkit was good.. once upon a time. It all fell apart after Hot Dog...
The music without Wes was pretty ordinary, and when Wes Borland returned for the unquestionable truth, it was unquestionably bad. I'm glad Wes has left.. His music after Limp Bizkit has only improved. Black Light Burns had an awesome debut album, and now that he's shown us all he can sing, he's moved on to better things. For the new Limp Bizkit to work, Sam Rivers and John Otto just HAVE to be there. They're great musicians.. it's a pity they have to play with Fred Durst.

Wes Borland, in all fairness, is a ****ing IMMENSE guitarist, and good on him for wanting out of this shit band. Now he can show his skills fully, rather than the cliched, powerchord repetetive riffs of nu metal.
the rest of the band were crap, ignorant cocks, none more so than fred durst himself.
Seriously guys, give Black Light Burns a listen, then decided who you like more

Sam Rivers and John Otto are the most underrated musicians ever. Ottos work on significant other is brilliant because he gets into his beats unlike some drummers who just hammer out and don't get any feeling. and Rivers, Re-arranged has one of the best bass riffs i've ever heard. Fred is a jerk, yes, but he is a jerk that got these musicians on the map.

yeah i'm going to have to agree with this guy right now nu-metal is the shit all those bands he mentioned are very popular and why is everyone hating on LB don't sit there tell me that yall didn't buy any of thier albums or listened to any of thier music go kill your self if you deny it. LB is on Rolling Stone 30 greatest bands of all time so i guess thier doing somthing right. These guys were the shit in the day yes they have to adapt to whats now but they can do it. And for the last time, all you heavy metal listeners, quit judging other types of music, you listen to 1 type of music heavy metal..... that is why yall are one thing, one dimensional you listen to one genre of music. Don't get me wrong i like heavy metal from mushroom head, underoath, As I lay dying, Kill Switch Engage, Unearth, and Hatebreed, you see i'm versital not one diminsional. see yall on the other side peace.

Ill give BLB a chance and wait for wes to refine the sound as it is a little unoriginal atm, but still good

as for Limp, Sam and John came out with some awsome work at least they werent doing blast beats and the same old same old, and i listen to children of bodom and arch enemy just incase u think of judging me from that comment
fred wasnt the problem, only in later years when fame got to his head, main problem was the fans but they brought it upon themselves with all the media hype, should have done a rage and not interview for years then they wud have been alright

daguy is right altho his language is a little hmmm
