According to Blabbermouth.net, the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC) show "Ahmar Bil Khat Al Areed" ("The Bold Red Line") dedicated a recent episode to the connection between heavy metal and Satanism. You can now watch the entire program below.
For more information (in English) on the "metal/Satanism" episode of "Ahmar Bil Khat Al Areed", visit NowLebanon.com and Elia Mssawir's blog.
According to Free Thinking Lebanon, "Ahmar Bil Khat Al Aareed" focuses on a different theme every week; the topics range from social and personal situations to bizarre phenomena taking place in Lebanon and the Arab world. During each episode, the host, Malek Maktabi, welcomes individuals who have come to the show to tell their story. Those people sit on one side of the stage, surrounded by a live audience. On the opposite side, a team of professionals in various fields (depending on the theme of the episode) are invited to take part in the discussion and to give their opinion on the different cases being investigated. A bold red line painted on the floor of the stage - as suggested by the title of the show - divides it in two. This symbolizes that the topic being explored is one that crosses the line of the Lebanese social norms (or that of the countries in the surrounding region).
Urg. I hate uninformed, assumed bs like this.
Next thing you know, metal's going to be looked at on ancient aliens and suddenly ancient astronauts can be linked with them.
Things can be linked anywhere if you try really really hard enough to make them.
I grew up in the American "Deep South". THIS is nothing new. The Baptists have been going on about this for as long as I can remember. Before HM, they were carrying on about Elvis.
It's crazy. I grew up in church (not by choice), I listen to Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, and Slipknot, and I'm not a "satanist". I personally don't think there is such a thing.
I don't want anything to do with religion because of this. It's all a bunch of hypocrites trying to start another "Great Awakening".
...Bitch, please. (:
Heavy metal's a type of genre. Meaning it has a certain sound that deffines it as metal...like any other genre. You can put whatever words you want with it and it doesn't have to be satanic. You can sing about Jesus if you want...i even play in a christian alternitive metal band. I would have a more structured opinion if I'd watched the video in english but who ever wrote obviously has never heard of subtitles...
Metal is obviously linked with atheism as much as satanism but whats so bad with satanism
Theistic satanists dont do rituals as people believe
and sacrifices are more kind to animals than a slaughterhouse and then theres Levay satanism, im personally a buddhist and i think that theres always gonna be a satanic theme in Metal but who cares really because if there is a god he would forgive you for
listening to metal because im pretty sure he'd be a metalhead himself
not that im saying that all metal is satanic becuase it isnt

Being a Baptist living in north Alabama, I know what you mean. Even Christian heavy metal is the devil's music. There isn't much thought put into any of the mindset.
This annoys me, every day i have to deal with my family telling me that it's is the devils music, and the way i prove it isn't is by giving them lyrics to 2 songs, one metal and one other genre, every time i show them that the other genre (most commonly rap), has lyrics which are far worse than that of heavy metal. This is the easiest way to prove that it isn't satanic.
K.... *"thinks"* Hmmm.. Im typing on a computer.. So i know im not in the mid 80's right now.. WTF???
I'VE LISTENED TO METAL FOR ALMOST 30 F**KING YEARS!!! & STILL HAVEN'T WORSHIPPED THE DAMN DEVIL!!!! Or F**KING care to for that matter! So get over it!
I've meet people who are satan worshippers & they said they can't stand Heavy Metal!
You really think SATAN could give a FLYING F**K about a bunch of broke a** Metal Heads like us, that count for about less than 1% of the population of earth!!
HAHAHAHA Satan's all hmmm... how can i get the good people of the earth to worship me..? Wait.... "I got it!!" I'll Make this thing called HEAVY METAL & I shall give this Metal to 4 broke dudes from England that call themselves "BLACK SABBATH".. & they shall spread thine Metal to other Bands (& they will sell theirs souls to me to be a really BIG BAND that gets lotsa Chicks & stuff)& together they shall spread the word to people that will become fans & They'll see all the money & chicks they are getting from this METAL thingy & they will do it & so on... & soon I shall RULE the world with my EVIL METAL!!! Buwahahahahaha....!!!!
Fast forward 40 years...
SATAN: DAMN IT!!! I've been crunching the numbers & i've got like 314 souls!!! ahhhhh... Son of a...!
Anyway... Yeah.. there's a little satan sprinkled in a few Metal bands... BFD!
I think After the 80's, i think satan took up Politic's & is helping run the US Government.. So go interview them & have a show or somethin??
I listen to Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, and Slipknot
lol
well placed lol tbh, so funny. of course they are gonna make that connection anyway, metal is pretty much the only music to talk about religion and satan. People make music about the devil love the devil, it makes sense.
im not satanist at all and very very few metalheads are, but its a ****ing easy link and it does make sense to people who know nothing about metal
