Mastodon's Kelliher Planning to Work With Opeth, In Flames Members: 'Just Something Fun'
Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher has stated that he's still very much interested in working on a side project with Opeth frontman Mikael Akerfeldt and guitarist Bjorn Gelotte of In Flames.

"It's harder than I thought it would be," Bill kicked off during a Rock Sverige interview. "It's definitely a plan."

Explaining how he started exchanging ideas and riffs online with Bjorn, the guitarist confessed, "I stalled out on that." Asked on whether fans can expect an album in the future, Kelliher replied, "I don't know. Just something fun. Because we were on tour and we were bored."

During a separate Artisan News chat, Bill discussed the band's latest album "Once More 'Round the Sun" and the sonic transition Mastodon made. "You can't please all of the people all of the time," he said.

"For us, it's the record that we had to make. As artists, we have to evolve and keep writing a little bit different every time. The music changes, we're not AC/DC, who write the same-tempo song for 40 years," Kelliher added.

Finally, the band has unveiled the new album's limited 2LP edition unboxing. The package's gorgeous to say the least, you can order it here. Check out the clips below for more.
