McFly Tops UK Chart

McFly have shot straight to number one today on the UK top 40 with their new single "Obviously." It’s the crossover pop act’s second successive chart-topper and bumps newly engaged Britney Spears to two with "Everytime." Outkast enter at four with "Roses," two ahead of Jay Sean feat. Rishi Rich Project at six with "Eyes On You." Veteran soul diva Beverly Knight enjoys a return to the charts at nine with "Come As You Are," one ahead of the Girls Of FHM at 10 with their subtle working of "Do Ya Think I’m Sexy."

Phixx miss the 10 entering at 12 with their carbon copy of Duran Duran’s best forgotten "Wild Boys" while Twista takes at bow at 16 with "Overnight Celebrity." Angel City, at 18 with "Touch Me" and Belle & Sebastian at 20 with "Books" are the only other new entries on the top 20.

On down the chart, Jentina, Blink 182, Junior Jack and The Zutons make up some of the other entries on the top 40.

Im just totally confused by everyone...
First they moan about to much crappy music in the charts and that more people should learn instruments and write their own songs and when they do they still complain.
Id just like to say music is music whether its McFly or Metallica. Both bands are totally different but still write music. Metallica's is heavier and more meaningful and McFly's is more jumping around at party type of music.
Stop whining and at least be happy that it isnt something even worse like a dance track.

I agree with bourne2punk on this.
But why rip into each other so much? Yes, we are all entitled to our own personal opnion, but why cause such disagreements, when it all started as a bit of a mick-take?
Also, Busted were one of the bands that made me want to pick up guitar. I had seen then many times and then my ambition of becoming a musician, became apparent. Then I discovered Mcfly, and have been a fan evey since. I am now a massive fan of bands such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine, but still regularly listen to Mcfly's music. I owe a lot to Busted, and most certainly Mcfly, for making me want to pick up guitar, and I will respect them for what they did.
Also, on the subject of Mcfly, if you listen to the 'Wonderland' album, you can hear that they have matured a lot musically, and are not the 'boy band' they were.
I do hope I haven't offended anyone.
