According to Blabbermouth.net, a five-minute video clip in which fans can learn more about Staind's new drummer Sal Giancarelli can be seen below.
In a recent interview with NY Rock Music Examiner, Staind guitarist Mike Mushok stated about the band's split with longtime drummer Jon Wysocki, "Well, losing Jon wasn't an easy decision or one that was made quickly. He's the only drummer I played with for 16 years! So, in that sense it is pretty different with someone else playing drums. I do have to say though that we have a good replacement in [longtime drum tech] Sal Giancarelli. Also, playing shows with [stand-in drummer] Will Hunt [of Evanescence]. Both guys were able to step in and make a pretty easy transition, which is testament to what good players they are."
The new self-titled seventh album from Staind sold 47,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No, 5 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "The Illusion Of Progress", opened with 92,000 units to debut at No. 3.
Staind topped the chart with 2001's "Break The Cycle", 2003's "14 Shades Of Grey", and 2005's "Chapter V".
Produced by Johnny K - known for his work with 3 Doors Down, Disturbed, and Sevendust, not to mention his Grammy Award-nominated collaboration with Staind, 2008's "The Illusion Of Progress" - and mixed by the legendary Chris Lord-Alge, "Staind" stands as Staind's most intense and powerful work to date.
This album is the long awaited return to form I've been itching for since Break The Cycle. It took forever, but it's finally another great Staind album.
This guy Sal ( Staind's drum tech) is a nothing drummer compared to Jon Wysocki ( Staind's original drummer). What I heard others say in the video this new guy has turned into a real jerk since getting his new gig as Staind's new drummer. He has the big head now. Just watch the video and it tells just what kind of ass he has turned himself into.
