Megadeth Mainman 'Reeling From Last 16 Months Of Touring'

Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:

"I have a meeting up north today, and have been trying to get all of our gear back from all over the world. I talked to James [Lomenzo, bass] and Chris [Broderick, guitar] in the last few days either by phone or via text, and we are going to start organizing the studio after the weekend. This means that we will have a rehearsal place, as well as a demo studio for new stuff.

"Speaking of new stuff, many of you know I am doing a performance at Guitar Center July 10th, and that Megadeth is doing a performance coming up this month in Anaheim for Affliction and their Mixed Martial Arts event. I have gotten a really obvious request for a song for the performance that I haven't played in over ten years, and I am not sure that I even remember it, but if I can still sing that high and it sounds good, there is a chance that we will be playing something from [1985's 'Killing is My Business...And Business Is Good'].

"God, I am reeling from the last 16 months of touring, the victories, and even more victories, and only once in a great while were there ever problems, but even still we tried to put everything else in the world on the shelf for the 90 minutes that we would play each night."

The third installment of the U.S. Gigantour — the acclaimed traveling heavy music festival launched in 2005 by Dave Mustaine — wrapped May 22 in Phoenix, Arizona. The trek officially launched on April 12 in Denver, Colorado with headliner Megadeth, Swedish metal band In Flames, Finland's Children Of Bodom, Arizona's modern extreme act job For A Cowboy and Oakland, California heavy power trio high On Fire.

Megadeth are one of the most amazing bands ever! Dave seems like a very humble and down to earth guy too - the type of guy that you could bump into on the streets and he would just want to hang out and have a good time rather than be like "I'm famous and you're not so don't talk to me!!"

I think it'll be Last Rites/Loved to Death cause that would be completely awesome. He sings pretty high in that one. Great piano intro, great song, great everything.

well i could care less what the song is, but im looking forward to the first chris broderick album. im not a fan of dave mustaine but i like megadeth pretty well. most of there stuff is cool and united abominations kicked ass

I saw Megadeth about 15 years ago, haven't since. Always wrong place wrong time....****in Army. But Dave is brilliant. I hope its Rattlehead, though the piano intro from last rites in a tap sequence is phenomonal....sorry if this has already been brought up

Yeah, supposedly Mustaine came up with that idea by himself but as you said it's clearly a copy of Bach's Fugue. However, Fugue and Last Rites are both a little different, and both follow a simple musical concept, so it's almost credible that Mustaine himself "created" it as well. I highly doubt he was listening to classical music at the time this album was being created.
