(long sigh)... the suckassery will never cease. $ellouttica need to break up. They can't play music anymore. St. Anger failed miserably. They suck worse with every new album that they release. I don't think I can't imagine anything worse than St. Anger. They no longer have a reputation for metal or music. They are a bunch of mediocre media parasites.

cspin, you dont know what the hell you are talking about. If you had have the talent that band has, you would be making millions. You cant play those riffs. you cant sing the lyrics that manly and deep, and you cant get anybody to listen to your stuff. And if you think that selling out means making money with your stuff and protecting your work from the dishonest, then you have another thing coming. They give so much to their fans, and they get what they deserve back, which is our hard earned dollars and loyalty. Very few bands have that kind of loyalty, and most of them aren't even around anymore. At least they are still making music. which is the least I can say for you, since you obviously have no clue about the music industry, there is no way that you could have an album out. You are entitled to your own opinions, but lets not make an ass of ourselves and dis a band thats giving back to its fans. seriously, you know how much money they are going to lose on this deal?!

you're_dumb :
Okay, St. Anger was a horrible album. It sounded worse than some of their original demos. Underproduction to the point where you sound like a high school band is not "getting back to your roots". Metallica were, at one point, a half-decent Thrash band. Then Hetfield (the pussy) gave up on the juice, and nothing's been the same since. They are a lame pop-metal/rock band with cliche songs and less than stellar riffs.

I'm sad to see a good, creative band basically give up, but it's bound to happen, they couldn't be badass at 40 years old, no one can. Except for KISS, but that's different, because they still have sex with 16 year old.

..Jasonhuchcraft, I won't have to go into detail so I'll just say that You don't know a damn thing about me. Ever since St. Anger, Metallica have seemed to suck musically nowadays. The guitaring was horrible. The first and second album was good. After that. They seemed to have musically sink down. Nothing Else Matters was the last good song. Metallica are no longer metal. And theree is more to being talented than getting money for it trendwhore. Metallica are overplayed recieving all that money from fellatio. Like the media, Metallica are sell outs and seems to keep seeking to every new low that comes up.

..As for You fuzzy_dildo I, I mean dillcrack. I bet you anything you're not a metal head, Otherwise you'd be agreeing with moi. And if you read my damn profile ya F~cking poseur jackass, I am a year older than you. Even if you were older, I obviously still know a lot more than you do.

..Metallica sucks massive ass more and more as short time passes. Metal gods my ass!!! Yeah their as godly at metal as my girl baby cousin playing with dolls. Metallica were thrash back in the 80's but nowadays they are a disgrace and a nuisance and a disgrace!!! A band called Heathen originated from Metallica also came from and they've always beaten the everliving shit out of Metallica. They should really disband and rid the earth of all the jackassery they've been causing lately.

Why do you people continue to say the EXACT same thing on EVERY news article, when no one cared what your oppinions were in the first place? "St Anger sucks, they're sellouts, Lars is gay..." No one cares, so do EVERYONE a favor and SHUT YOUR F'ING MOUTHS.

I happen to think St. Anger was a decent album along with many others. I went to their concert last year and at one point James asked, "who has the album St. Anger?" And the entire stadium (the Denver Pepsi Center which was packed full) exploded into cheers and sang along with every all three St. Anger songs as well as the rest of the setlist. About being a sellout, everyone here knows that if you, or any of us were in that type of position we would take it. If you watch Some Kind of Monster however, there is actually a part where a radio station wanted them to do a stupid promotion that they were against, but they would get screwed over if they didn't grit their teeth and do it. Hence "wash you back so you won't stab mine". Shut up, stop trying to be an attention whore. We've heard all of your stupid arguement points for a long time, and its getting VERY old.

Really, its what you appreciate. Personally, I didn't particulary like St. Anger, and I suppose those of you who think it sucked are comparing it to Master of Puppets or Kill Em' All. But one real failure doesn't mean its over for the band. Maybe if they continue to produce with Bob Rock, they should break up. Bob is an asshole. He turned the bass all the way down on St. Anger because he sucked so much, and his "back to their roots" ideas are horrible. Not to mention the fact that there were no killer solos, just repetitive riffs that went on for eight minutes straight. I think the sucess of the Black Album expanded his ego, and it shows on St. Anger. If Bob gets the boot and Metallica goes back to its roots, they can still do good. And I mean "roots" as in Jame's powerful voice, Kirk's killer solos and riffs, and Lars gets rid of the trash can drum, then the world can be re-aligned.
Now I think that St. Anger appealed to more modern metal fans, but not hardcore Metallica fan who love MoP, KEA, RTL, and Black. So even if St. Anger was horrible compared to older Metallica albums, give the guys another chance. But if the next album sux, I'm bustin' heads.

cspin, you dont have a clue do you? you call yourself a metal head but probably listen to every new metalband out there that follow the "metal rules". Act hardcore, play fast, and try to be like the eighties withoutbeingyourself. Am i the only one here thatremembers what true metal is about? its about saying *** the norm! i do what i want and no one can stop me! DOnt crucify Metallica because they make money, praise them because they have the balls to experiment and do what they want! You say they're sell-outs, but they're probably some of the only TRUE havey Metal-ers around!

You know, i agree with metalnut on his quote about Jason Newsted, I think that if Metallica would have kept going with what they had, which was I disappear, Human, and no leaf clover, I think that that would have been the best Idea. I would have taken 10 unamed feelings to 1 Invisible kid. But I don't think we need to be frying cspin, he just needs to see that just because a band makes money and does well in this business, doesnt make them a sell out, and he can't sit their and grill jamze about being a pussy and shit, thats bogus. Personally, I think the band has gotten a lot of flack about their recent albums,LOAD, reLOAD, and St. Anger, but I REALLY like the way that load and Reload sounded. They have got to get rid of bob though, Im sorry, dude, but the band has out grown you. simple as that. I still doubt that anybody else out there today could play with the same intensity as metallica though. And if so, I want to see them.
besides slayer, and sepultara, but they havent changed in like 25 years either, so they all sound the same, anyway.

POSTED: 03/02/2005 - 02:06 pm / quote |
cspin :
1) Kinghate69 I never said I was a metal head, ya jackass

2) Jeez, I got like at least five flames from different people that have said the same thing. "OMG JUST CAUZ METALLICA MAKE MONEY DON'T MEAN THEY ARE SELL OUTS." They are. Think about it. Musically they have sold out. Compare there original demos with St. Fucking Anger. The farthest thing from heavy metal. No Kirk solos, Robert's crappy bass lines, Lars' garbage can drumming, Even James' vocals sucked. The black album vocals were the best. And nice harmonies too. Any Metallica fan would know that their first two albums were only good because because they're all dave mustaine riffs.

So even if St. Anger was horrible compared to older Metallica albums, give the guys another chance. But if the next album sux, I'm bustin' heads.

If it does suck, you'll see what I mean. They get less good on every new album they make.

jasonhutchcraft :
Lars gets a little nutty with that snare drum, but hey, its his thing. I thought the unnamed feeling was a particularly badass song, and frantic was pretty f***ing cool. But I still don't agree with cspin that they are sellouts. They just aren't its that simple. And as far as their first stuff being their best, im sorry bro, but thats way off. I will listen to 15 st. angers to just 1 seek and destroy, and thats the bottom line. If you thought that James was a pussy, just listen to Dave! Have you seen that movie yet? the loser is still whining that he got cut from metallica. What a ***ing baby..
