Motley Crue Frustrated By Biopic

Motley Crue are back with a new album, a song that's a hit with gamers and an upcoming festival tour, but the bad-boy rockers are frustrated that a long-awaited movie about their lives is going nowhere.

The glam-metal veterans first announced in 2006 they had reached a deal with MTV Films/Paramount to start producing a biopic based on their best-selling autobiography "The Dirt," which was co-written with Neil Strauss.

But the band is now looking for new partners, bassist/lyricist Nikki Sixx told Reuters.

"We're trying to get them (MTV) out of the way to make this movie that should have been made a long time ago," he said.

"MTV has become bogged down in its own way. It's a channel that used to be hip and has now actually become unhip. We signed with them because we believed they were right, but they haven't come to the table," he said. "We need to find the right partner. They are not the right partner."

Paramount Pictures and MTV Films, both units of media conglomerate Viacom Inc, declined comment.

Obviously, almost all music is good it's just what kind you like

I'm not really a fan of this band but I like 'Saints of Los Angeles' (and yes I downloaded it for Rock Band). I would probably still watch the movie if the opportunity came up just because I like documentaries on music and bands, even if I don't like them the band that much.

From a Metallica fan, that judgement is true, but probably just as biased as the original.
TBH, a film based on this band's history will be a hilarious watch - if a little uncomfortable at times (If the heroin diaries is anything to go by)

this movie has the potential to be excellent if it's well written and they choose good actors.. or it could end up like Hysteria: The Def Leppard Story, which was entertaining but a giant ball of cheese

There's already a movie based on hair-metal bands from the 80's... It's called Rock Star and I don't think any other band movie could ever top it.

MTV's always been shit? Nobody remembers Headbanger's Ball (the original)? Geez guys. If you don't care about a Motley Crue movie, don't watch it. I like the Crue, yet I still find it funny that this movie "should have been made a long time ago." Kinda airheaded if you ask me. But hey, do what you want. And by sucked hard for decades, lets see...it started in what? The mid 80's? Got bad around mid 90's? It's currently around the mid 00's? That equates to 1.3 decades, which does not round up to 2.0 decades. MTV has sucked for a decade. (Rock Star was also a cool movie.)

everyone should honeslty stop banging this band, they're not the best, and after "Shout At the Devil", the cd's became less and less good feautring one or 2 hits each, but these guys were some off the craziest guys ever to hit the music scene, and a movie on their lives would be interesting and probably good

BOYCOTT MTV ALREADY! They sucked ever since they don't show any real music and only ones with major artist. All artist should release their videos online or FUSE, unless FUSE gets bought out.

Goddamn it! You just started the perpetual opinion cancellation paradox!
We's all gunna dye!!

This movie might ok. They should have never went with MTV in the first place. 99% of the movies they make or help produce are crap.
