Neil Young has revealed that his new album, "Le Noise," has been inspired by his own spirituality.
In an interview with the AP, quoted by Digital Spy, the solo artist describes the eight-track release as a spiritual record in some ways. "There's a lot to do with love on the record. Love is in almost every song, and so it had a spiritual layer to it," he says. "It's not trying to do anything. It's just trying to be itself."
In "Le Noise," Young also touches on the subject of war, though explains he is still looking at its relation to love. "
It's such a deep subject and there's really no one answer. There's nobody who really knows," he says. "
It just seems to be a part of the human condition to get in wars over and over again for as long as human beings have been around. So I have opinions but I'm not so sure that they're right."
As reported in Spinner, his follow up to 2009's "Fork In The Road" is a solo effort recorded with producer Daniel Lanois, who has added his own trademark textures to Young's voice and guitars. "Le Noise" is out now on Reprise Records.
