According to Blabbermouth.net, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has slammed actor Kirk Cameron as "a-shole of the week" after the former "Growing Pains" star called homosexuality "unnatural" and "detrimental".
Cameron, who is an evangelical Christian, spoke out against homosexuality during an interview on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Friday, March 2 (see video below).
When host Piers Morgan asked the actor if he was against gay marriage, Cameron replied, "Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one woman for life 'till death do you part. So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don't."
Cameron then responded to further questions from Piers, telling Morgan, "I think that [homosexuality], it's, it's unnatural. I think that it's, it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."
In the days since the interview, a number of other celebrities have shared their own take on the topic of homosexuality and gay marriage.
In a series of tweets on Sunday, Sixx added his two cents to the debate, writing, "Kirk Cameron, asshole of the week. I get the 'Freedom of speech' tweets from you guys... I just have a really hard time excepting [sic] people bashing gay marriage. Love Is Love."

Pretty sure homosexuality has never led to the fall of any civilization, with maybe the exception of some backwards tribal situation no one's heard of. Just to address one of the many falsehoods in Cameron's few quotes. I'm sure it's all well-documented in Christianity's 2000 year old book of second-hand accounts, though.

This depends a lot on how you view the word. One of the basic functions of humans (as with other animals) is to procreate, in order to keep its population and gene pool going. The term unnatural is defined as: "Contrary to the ordinary course of nature; abnormal."
Based on that, it is unnatural or abnormal to be homosexual. This is not the same as saying a person is a freak or can't be a productive part of the community/world. Nor do I care if someone is gay or not. I'm just stating the facts insofar as what man parts and woman parts are for (and in regard to biology, evolution, etc., and that we would not be alive if it were not for heterosexuality).
Again, I'm not against homosexuality, but words have to be taken in the right context. But apart from the actual defintion of annatural and its ties to biology and the need for procreation and reproduction, his other comments are very arcaic.

OK I've left too many comments in such a short space of time so this will be my last. There's a difference between saying "homosexuality is wrong" on a platform to millions of people when there is factual evidence of homosexuality since most modern forms of life existed, and someone saying a book that has no evidence in it to prove it is factual is bullshit.

Here's the thing. Homosexuality has been around for thousands of years. It's not something which has ever been really "promoted" save for maybe the last 20-30 years, yet somehow it has survived throughout the ages. It is something which just happens, naturally, I would argue. Think of it like albino traits or even green eyes or red hair. The vast majority of the world has dark hair, just as the vast majority of the world is heterosexual. The fact that it is less common doesn't make red hair any less natural, does it? And do we really want to argue that continuing to overpopulate the planet is somehow a good thing? Not going there.

It seems like Christians are considered intolerant because the ones who say something controversial are the only ones that make the news. No, not really. It's just 2 sides of the same argument.
Without people shooting off the opposing point of view, we'd all be believing the exact same things, living the exact same morals under the exact same rules.
Neither should be taken as fact, they're just opposing opinions.
If Mr. Cameron has the right to say he doesn't support gays and call them "detrimental to society", then I have the right, as does Mr. Sixx, to call him a bigoted douchebag who is detrimental to society.
Though I disagree with him, I don't disagree with the fact that he has the right to express his own opinions. At the same time, this is fine as long as it is only an opinion and politics are not involved. The second religion and politics become the same thing, we're screwed. On the surface religion is supposed to teach people to be good to one another and you will go to a better place. But really, most religions just teach people to judge others that do not share the same beliefs, often resulting in mass amounts of violence.

But what if the kids got it from their parents who got their information from outspoken *******s who said that stuff on the TV. Are you beginning to see the picture form? As for the Kirk Cameron thing, it's funny how the groups who back these issues don't although people to voice their own opinions without a column being written about him "bashing" them, which if you saw the interview, there was not bashing going out. The host kept pushing the question on him and he gave he finally gave his opinion on it in a polite way, it wasn't hate filled, no matter what a headline would lead you to believe.

The world is a harsh place, get used to it. What are you going to do, bolt peoples' mouths shut because they say things you don't like? As long as they aren't physically touching people with violence, they can say whatever they want. The best you can do is educate your own children to not be hateful and have them treat others as they would be treated. Teach them to have thicker skin and not be bothered by ignorant people. Think about it. The people filled with ignorance and hate are obviously mentally challenged. They are pathetic. Teach your kids that those types of people are beneath them (because they are). Gays should be allowed to marry, because there is no reason why the government can or would rightfully create a law against gay marriage that had zero ties to religion. Government and Religion are two entities that cannot be allowed to operate together, because it can ONLY lead to oppression and absolutism. Jews are known to have existed as a monotheistic religion since at least 3000 B.C. That is the oldest written or artifact-based evidence that Judaism existed in it's form today. Some believe that there is evidence supporting the idea that it existed as a polytheistic religion, but focused around a central god, even beyond that range.
At a minimum, the source material we're looking at here has been around at least 5000 years, make sure you have an idea of what you're talking about.

Well then, it was "foretold" by ancient egyptians that the son of "god" (usually thought of as the son of ra, the sun god) or a prophet would be born on december 25, also all the plagues and many of the stories were written at this time. I honestly think that homosexuals wanting to get married under a religion that they don't abide is counter productive. That goes for Atheists, Agnostics, Pagans, etc. And also, it should be illegal for people to divorce under Marriage, but not for these Unions for other groups. One thing I've always thought of as a point of contention is exactly what "marriage" is. It is, technically, a sacrament of the Church... And the church can pretty much say homosexuals cannot be married, because the sacrament itself is a religious ceremony and tradition. (Note: I do not agree with this. I think homosexuals should have every right to live together, I'm just saying.)

If I have a friend who is doing something that I believe is wrong according to the Bible, I talk to him about it. If he dismisses it, that's his choice. I can't make him do it. That's not my job.

The Old Testament is still used as a teaching tool, but it is to back up the lessons Jesus taught. I never said that I "cherry-pick" or that Christians do. I've never met a Christian who discredited science completely, and there are many who don't deny science at all. This includes the theory of evolution.
